How to fix a cracked
You really only have two options to fix this problem.
1 The first option is to just buy another Mp3 player
2. You can have the manufacturer company or experienced technician, replace the screen for you.

You need to use the supplied Sansa Media Converter program to convert videos and photos to a format the Sansa can handle. If you don't have the SMC, you can download the Windows version from

You may need to re-identify your player to your computer.

You can try and fix it yourself first. Go to the SanDisk support site and look for the "Updater program" run the update on your player before contacting support for a repair.
I have a Sansa Fuze
Having gone over a month with no response to my query, I assume the suggested reset solved the problem.
Sound changes when the headphone socket shifts
Could be that whatever they used to hold that socket in place has come loose.
Not much you can do with it, aside from taking it back or sending it in to get repaired.
You could try to open it and see where it's loose.
Tho that would most likely void what warranty you may still have on the device.

Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you
have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader
from Amazon.com or Buy.com

Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of
available drives.

Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right
drive.

In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose
'Format'.

Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This
is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted
to do in the first place.

Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and
insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to
it to make sure it works fine now.

The root file of
sandisk has a firmware manger install update manger(firmware manger) and let it do the work if you have internet if no internet still get update manger and put the frimware in C:/program files/??(sandisk folder)/firmware. the restore and it will use that firmware.
