It could be that it is a pre-owned game, I have had problems with pre-owned games, and have bought a new game that has not been used. Also I have just recently bought that game and had to do and update to the xbox 360 when trying to play that game, you should have got a message to update the system when trying to start the game.

Your problem on your X-Box may be a faulty disk drive. This is an error caused by a patch released a while ago by Microsoft. They have refused to acknowledge it so far, so most people are stuck still trying to get it to work. I find that just trying enough times will make it finally work, although sometimes it can be a long time of trying. But generally, after it reads it again, you won't have a problem for a while.

If you have a big enough hard drive, you can install the game to your hard drive which will usually fix this problem. Installing is easy. Go to the dashboard, and scroll to where you would normally start the game from. But instead of pressing A to play the game, press Y on it and you should have the option to install it.

Buy new CD DRIVE. It is easy to change. Just make sure to order the tools too.

If all the lights around it are flashing then most likely you have the red ring of death problem. Microsoft covers with warranty from 3 years after the manufactured date which you can find on the back of the 360. If it's still covered have it repaired otherwise you may want to consider selling it for parts and buying a replacement.

What to do when your Xbox Has problems with reading disks and you have tried cleaning the disk.

This does not mean your Disk Drive needs replacing more often than not it just needs the laser to be readjusted.

Option 1

You can send this off to Microsoft if your still in warranty because it is included in there free fixes so they will do the collecting for you, fix it and return the Xbox to you, all for free, but it will take 4-6 weeks.

Option 2

If you are out of warranty its the same process as above but its $130 in cost

Option 3

now a new Disk drive would cost around $75 for a compatible one and you may need some one to fit it at a cost as well.

Option 4

What I recommend is a Xbox Repair Guide that will show you the simple steps yourself, you will be up and running again in less than an hour and the cost is far less than option 2 & 3
