You may have a defective or failing usb flash drive. Try inserting it in other computers. If the problem is the same, then you need to replace it.

To make sure that the usb flash drive is working, try inserting it in a different computer. If the problem persists, you may have a defective usb flash drive. Try returning it back to the store where you bought it from to avail of the product warranty. If the store where you buy it is legit, they should replace your item with a working one. To avoid this problem in the future, try using it in the store first before taking it home.

All you are required to do is to shut off the computer and then remove the Flash drive. Ned not wait for the icon or any other instructions.

if its brand new you really need to format it. just right click it on my computer then format. choose a file format you want, Fat32 or NTFS then you are done.

If you tried it on more than 1 computer and it still has issues, sounds like you may be out of luck. If you can get a hold of a different OS like Mac or Linux, you may still be able to read it. But if not, you wont be able to keep anything. Good luck.

Welcome to Fixya. You dont need a driver if you want to use the flash drive.It is a plug and play device and it will automatically detected by windows.

Which operating system are you using the drive with? It may have been corrupted and need formatting.

What do you mean its not working? Is it not being recognized by the computer?
Try using different USB ports after restarting the computer. If this doesn't work, try to go to a different PC.

Click on round windows button (on the bottom right) > right click on "computer" > manage > select disk management > if you can see the flash drive in on the right hand side right click on it > format.

There is a known problem with the U3 software and Windows 7. Are you running Win 7?

It sounds like the flash memory in the drive is corrupt, unfortunately. If it's always asking you to format it, you have little option but to discard the drive (or if it's in warranty, to contact SanDisk for a replacement). I'm sorry I don't have better news.

8 gb pendraive not detected

This happens from time to time, when the software becomes corrupted that handles the drive.

Be advised that if you format it, you will for sure lose your data.

It is recommended to take this device to a professional pc technician or retail store to get assistance.

Simply UNPLUG YOUR COMPUTER FROM THE POWER SUPPLY. Yes that's it! Note that this does not mean just turning off your computer because modern computers don't really turn off when you press the power button as the motherboard still gets power.

First to explain, the motherboard is where all of hardware of the computer is connected to, including the USB ports. Sometimes the motherboard needs to be "rebooted" also because something can go wrong, i.e. all your USB ports suddenly stop working. The small microprocessor on the motherboard will reload the drivers and your USB ports should be back to recognizing all devices!

So first turn off your computer using Shut Down or pressing the power button and then UNPLUG it from the wall outlet. Let it sit for about a minute and then plug it back in.

Then either the USB port is inactive or the drive is defective, try another device on the USB, if that works the drive has failed

AND YOU CAN GET YOUR DATA WITHOUT LOOSING IT.THIS PROBLEM HAPPENS WHEN THERE IS DUST ON THE SERIAL BUS OF PEN DRIVE ELSE U R SYSTEM MAY BE AFFECTED BY VIRUS

right click on my computer
select mange
select disk management
in that one right click on removable or it may show your pen drive name then select open or explore

You will need to down load the latest version of the U3 launcher @ www.sandisk.com Hope it helps, to be safe I will however suggest another backup to a XP computer, just to be safe. Good Luck.

If your having a problem transferring the file on your flashdrive you can reformat the drive so that it you can use all the available space on it. Just Right Click on the flashdrive the select Format Drive.
