How can i format writeprotected pendrive

To disable the write protection:
1.From the Start menu, click "Run", type "regedit", and press <Enter> or click <OK>. 2.Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SYSTEM > CurrentControlSet > Control > StorageDevicePolicies. 3.Double click on "WriteProtect" and change the value to 0 (WriteProtect = 0 for disabled; 1 for enabled). 4.Close the registry editor and restart Windows. 5.After Windows starts, test writing to your USB drive. Important Note: Serious problems might occur if you modify the Windows registry incorrectly. **PLEASE** make sure that you follow these steps *exactly* and *carefully*. For added protection, back up the registry before you modify it in case you have trouble so it can be restored. For more information about how to back up and restore the registry, follow the steps as in the KB Article: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/322756/

Cannot format flash drive.... receive message

Usually there is a small switch or colored slide which flips between write protected and writable. If there is no switch it may be the software that is on the drive is preventing the format, if this is the case you may need to use a boot disk like Hiren's boot Cd to format it while not booted into Windows.

Writeprotected

Plug the flash drive in your computer. Then go to the Cmd Prompt, RunAs Administrator, Then type Diskpart > To list all the available Disks, type List Disks. You will see all the drives listed with a number ID. So the flashdrive might be Disk 3, or whatever. Now type Select Disk # (whatever the flashdrive # is) Now type Attributes clear readonly. Now type Exit, to leave the diskpart applet That should do it.

ACCIDENTY TRASHED 2 EXTREMELY IMPORTANT

When you deleted files and folders on your flash drive, they don't goes to trash. Deleting won't make them erase permanently. Those deleted files and folders are still stored on your flash drive, they're just invisible or inaccessible. You can recover deleted files from flash drive with flash drive recovery software. I had succeed with Tenorshare Data Recovery.Anyway, you can download it and scan your flash drive for free to preview whether you can recover your files. It will show you the file name, type, date and size of your files and thumbnails for your pictures that it found on your drive.Get it from http://www.any-data-recovery.com/product/datarecoverystandard.htm
