From page 14 of the manual: "The time cannot be set manually in the handset, only at the base. Any update to the base time will be automatically sent to the handset."

It's on the bottom of the phone, unless the little sticker was removed.

I don't know how to fix this, I hope someone does, this just started happening to me, too. V. annoying. Can't find any solution.

I had the same problem (constant initializing with dropped lines, no dial tone, etc) with my RCA Visys 2-line phone (model 25205) after owning it about 3 months, and could not find a solution on the Web, so I called RCA customer service. They said this problem is not user-fixable and they gave me an RMA# to return it. They will send a replacement phone as soon as you fax the receipt, your name, problem with the phone, etc.. Then when you get the replacement phone you send them the bad phone.

Briefly press the Answer L1 or L2 button, it displays the answering status on LCD. For example, L1: ANSWER OFF.

To change the status, press and hold the Answer L1. Unit will display and announce the new status of the answering system.

This is a common problem of the telephone unit,you better replaced it.But before you replace it,to be sure that telephone defected already,try a good telephone unit to put there to be sure that's is working.

To get on voice mail press menu
use arrow keys to navigate
press ok on voice mail.
press ok on call vm
choose the line to access with the up and down buttons, then press OK the phone will dial the programmed voice mail access number
onece you are connected follow your service providers instructions to manage your voice mail.

There is a battery box that holds 4 AAA batteries. It's down under. Not easy tospot but it's there. However, I added fresh batteries and it stil says replace battery. I'd like ot know how to turn off the message.

Melissa is correct about the manual being wrong. You have to press the Sel/Save button, not the Exit button after recording a personal message. Then you have to follow the directions on page 23 to Configure each line to Personal Message.

It does not matter that you have VoIP or traditional telco with the problem you are describing. I think you have a problem with the adaptor or a wire. Check the connectors and the plugs in the phone to see if anything is bent.
