Try plugging it to another USB port on your computer, preferrably a rare one.
Also, try plugging it to another computer.

If none of the above worked, I'm afraid the pendrive is damaged and have to be replaced.
You can take it to a special lab that specialized in data restoration in order to take the data out of it...

Try uninstalling the USB root hubs in the device manager and then restart. They will reinstall upon the restart.

It may also could be a bad power adapter.

if not recognized or virus attacked your flash disk, just reformat it. but beware you will lose all your files when reformating.

plug in to usb port then open folder to view files selection from the poup menu. then just drag and drop, or copy and paste to the open flash drive folder.

This is a known issue with mac. If you have a windows based pc, plug the usb there and delete all the files. You will be surprised to see that there are remnant files in there from mac.

Sorry ... bt there is no way to get solution to your problem .... all you can do is contact the Scandisk company n ask them....

You flash drive is infected with virus or your computer have virus that cannot detect the flash drive data. Try to connect it with other computer. If it view the files from there, you need either reformat your computer or reformat your usb but all the data will be lost.

Did you go to my computer,,thats how you open or find a flash drive,,hit my computer and it should be there removible disk,,,if not try pluging it in and restarting computer,,also try wesite of the usb to see if any updates or u may need new driver,,but I never had any flash drive do that so,,could be faulty or went bad,,tap it on a hard surface a few times ,,could free the disk,,it works eith seized hdds ,,so,,goodluck

Does it work in some other PC?
If not, take a sledge-hammer to it, to destroy any data stored on it, and then responsibly recycle it.
Then, spend $14 to purchase a replacement.

what do you mean doesnt work properly >? do it not want to load on your computer ? if that the problem then you havent been ejecting it the right way. and it thats the case then all the stuff is gone .

The pc you are using may be reserving that drive letter for some other device, unplug all other usb devices and try it again.

These drives to this on occasion. It will even get to a point when you will see that message on one computer then plug it into another computer and nothing will show as being wrong. This is usually a sign that the format needs refreshed because of the nature of writing and deleting files from it all the time it has a tendency to develop corrupted files and sections. This will also happen if you've removed the drive without following the proper sequence of stopping it and using the windows remove function.

1.Place the flash drive on the desktop.
2.Start the "Disk Utility." Click on "Macally" flash drive. Use the "Erase" button.
3.Select the "MS-DOS File System" in "Volume Format."
4.Provide a new name for the drive.
5.Click the "Erase" button.

if you are creating a new power point presentation then you can directly save the power point in your usb if there is an already created power point then copy it and paste it in your usb drive

Myself have a Cruzer Contour (4GB) also, I happen to meet this error when use it on one of my client notebook. It seems that a antivirus/anti-malwares software blocking the "Autorun" program been execute, in order to prevent wide spread viruses came from pen drive information sharing.
(Sorry.... cannot recall which antivirus software...)

Some how the Sandisk Cruzer is carrying a build in program called "U3 Luanchpad", which also happen to using "Autorun" approach. Very high chances you might caught in this situation.

Please perform a virus/malwares scan on the thumbdrive. if USB happen to be found nothing related to the "Autorun" after scan, and able to use on other PC/NB environment (which not the same anti-virus amd anti-malwares been used). It will be pretty sure the problem lies on the software I mentioned in your PC/NB.

Rumor from the SanDisk forum that SanDisk has dropped support for U3, thus the U3 Software Central site is gone.
