How to unlock micro sd

Recover an SD Card Password b> Secure Digital (or SD) memory cards are one of the most popular forms of digital media storage. When using SD cards with a mobile device, you can set a password to protect unauthorized users from viewing the files. However, sometimes, you may lose the SD card password. If you have access to the mobile device, recovering the password is a simple process. If the mobile device is not present, the only way to recover the password is to reformat the device. Download and install a file explorer application, such as FExplorer, X-plore or Best Fileman onto the mobile device. http://download.cnet.com/f-explorer/3000-2094_4-75758737.html Run the application on the mobile device. Select the "Find" option. Type "MMCSTORE" in the space provided. Connect the mobile device to the computer via either a Bluetooth connection or the connection cable that came with the mobile device. Send the "MMCSTORE" file to the computer. Rename the "MMCSTORE" file "MMCSTORE.txt" on the computer. Open the "MMCSTORE.txt" file on the computer. Write down the password located in the "MMCSTORE.txt" file. b> Using a PC b> Download and install the SD Formatter program from the SD Association website. http://www.sdcard.org/consumers/formatter/ Insert the SD card into the computer's SD card reader. Run the SD Formatter application. Select the SD card from the drop-down menu and click the "Format" button. Formatting the SD card will reset the password. However, the process also will remove any data that is stored on the card. Allow several minutes for the SD card to format. Hope this helps.

Cant open on PC

What type of picture format are they? is the icon of them look like a white piece of paper with a windows symbol in the middle? if so, then they are not a recognized file type for windows such as jpg, gif, bmp, png, and so on.

Have you tried to force them open? Open a picture editor, such as windows paint, click File > Open. when asked to open a file, type *.* for the file name and press enter. all files should be shown now. locate a file on your memory card and open it.

Did it open? if so then you may have lost associations for your picture files. it may be all picture types or just that format your pictures are in.

Did the picture not open? check the file type extension, for example DSC0001.JPG where JPG is the extension. if you do not see your files like that, right click the file and select Properties. the File Type information will be located in the top section.

What do I do if

Hi meredee_swit,

Files on a flash drive can be corrupted, if it is not removed from the USB port properly.

I advise you before removing the flash drive, CLICK on the Safely Remove Hardware icon and then, click on the flash drive you want to remove and then remove the flash drive, when the computer message says "it is Safe to remove".

1. To restore the flash drive to working order you need to format the flash drive, but you will lose the data stored on the flash drive.

If you need the data on the flash drive these Websites may help Data and Digital Photo Recovery.

I wantto format my card

You will find a yellow(or white depending on the version) slider bar on the card, this is the physical lock mechanism to prevent you from accidentally wiping your card. Move this to the off position and re-insert it into your computer. You should then be able to wipe the card.

I forgot the pass word

Hi,

This is NOT a good news. You have 25 times to enter the password. If you have incorrectly entered 25 incorrect passwords, all the date would be erased and it would give you an option for a new password. If you don't remember the password by even looking at the hint, the only option would be to send the drive to Kingston to see, if they would save the data unless there is no way to save your date. I am sorry to be a bearer of bad news, however i am better be honest to you rather than giving run around solutions.

I wish i could have a better solution.

Let me know,if needed further assistance.

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
