The only soulution is to get a disk scratch remover to rescue the disk. The Xbox scratched the disk because of the lack of anything to stop the disk tilting inside the drive when the xbox is moved.

To make the xbox360 hard drive 'formatted' to the console you need to follow these simple steps.
1, Go to the system settings on the dash board.
2, Select memory settings and highlight Xbox360 hard drive option, do not select, but press the yellow or the Y button.
3, From the menu that appears, select 'Format' and the hard drive will then be formatted to the console enabling you to use it as it was meant to be used.
Other than that, you will need a new hard drive as the one they have provided is faulty.

the problem may come from the hard drive which means that it may have a virus like a computer or that the hardrive may have a malfuntion and cant be able to read to the xbox 360 so it is considered to buy a new hardrive and recover your profile/ enter xbox.com to get all the downloads that was on the last hard drive

This is usually caused by the power brick over-heating. Try cleaning out the vents on the power brick. There are little holes on the ends and overtime they become clogged with dust and lint. If that doesn't work then you'll have to replace the power brick.

There is a product called a Game Doctor, it buffs the surface of the disk, one might help in this case. Some gaming stores carry them.

If you want to just get to the prompt to change the passcode and you know the security question, type in:X, Y, Left Trigger, XIf you want to reset all settings to factory default you would press:Code to restore factory defaults.LT, RT, X, Y, LB, RB, D(dpad), Y, U(dpad), D(dpad)Go to console settings and all the way down to select system info.Enter code above.Then you will be prompted to restore factory defaults.Your 360 will then restart and go to the dashboard.When prompted to restore family settings, you would choose to skip it.Also, you can do this while removing all storage devices if you are concerned of any changes. Just turn off your system before and after while disconnecting your hard drive or memory units.

Got any more specifics? like was it a transfer cable or a usb flashdrive? Does it boot up at all? unplug all the cords (wall to box, box to xbox) unplug the hard drive and make sure all the little brass connectors are clean and even spaces apart. Plug it all back in and see if it boots, if still nothing, unplug the hard drive and see if the xbox boots by itself. that's all I can wing at the moment, let me know if that did anything please

ok configured it with another format??? or configured it within the xbox console?? if you have copyed games loaded to your hard drive before and you have xbox live and updated then you no longer can play games straight from the hard drive but if you mean its just not working get a sata to usb cable connect it too your laptop/pc and format it into fat32 and then configure it again within the xbox if that dosnt work its because the hard drive is corrupted visit my website google it xbox360repairspro.webs.com

i think theres ether a problem with your HDD or ur XBOX and you need to talk to the people u got the HDD off and see if they can fix it but if its expensive u probley got a little scammed and u should talk to the makers of XBOX

Oh this is a very easy fix. First though verify that the optical drive is not running any other, check and see if any of your other games work. If you are getting the disc read error you may also try doing the "A" Button trick by holding it for a few minutes upon boot to put the xbox into an auto play mode. If this does not work you may need to open your xbox. If its not under warranty find a guide on how to open it up. Then once you have access to your dvd drive open it up. Clean the laser with lens cleaning solution and a Q-tip, but do not touch the lens with anything else. Next you will see next to the lense there is a laser on a black thing. make sure that the black thing is flush, or pushed up against, the middle where the lens is. Put it back together and you should have no problem reading discs. You may also consider cleaning the rest of the dvd drive housing as they tend to get very dirty over time.

try unattaching it from the top, then plug it back in. IF this doesnt work, the hard drive is bad.

It could be your xbox 360 or the harddrive that's creating the problem.

I suggest that you buy a memory card and recover your gamertag to the memory card.

Once you do that turn off your xbox 360 and turn it back on.

If says profile found on the memory card than you know that it is the harddrive that has the problem.

Did you unplug the transfer cable and plug back in the hard drive to the Xbox? might have to restart Xbox afterwards. anyways the hard drive is a memory unit.

there is a way to hack your old hard drive(open it and stick your old 360 HD into the new one) OR you can get one from microsoft, amazon, ebay, etc. If you hack your old hard drive BE CAREFUL. you can find youtube videos on how to do it. It's pretty strightforward; open the drive, take the drive out of the HD shell, and stick it into the new 360's HD slot.
