Samsung 1200W 5.1-Ch. XM-Ready Home Theater System w/5-Disc Upconvert DVD Player - Answered Questions & Fixed issues
Samsung htz510 wont read dvd or cd? It just says
I have the same issue, along with a Rear Check issue at power up, and the fan stopped working about a month ago, so three strikes and your out, I would not recommend this product due to the quality. My Oniko was purchased years ago and is still going strong, I moved to an apartment and wanted the wireless ease with the back speakers, never again with this brand. My Samsung LCD is acting up now too, it is only 15 months old, and won't power up right away takes like 5 attempts, unreal
The screen keeps flashing rear chk and the rear
I had the very same problem, and found that if you power up the receiver in DVD/CD mode, or tap the function button to display DVD/CB mode, the Wireless Rear Speaker AMP will automatically recognize and turn on the sound. This work around was not posted anywhere in the manual, just 1 of many workarounds I have had to put up with this system to work. Right now my fan went and it just keeps shutting down, I have had this system for about 15 months and very disappointed with the quality. My DVD player stopped working a few months ago, so now the system is rendered useless, not even sure it is worth fixing at this point since it is no longer under warrenty.
The back speakers do not work when I watch regular
if you are not watching tv in hd or the show is not recorded in surround then you will not get any sound from them. if this is not the case you can try a simple optical cable run from the tv to the reciever. This cable is about 50 bucks and has awesome quality. Hope this helps.
Samsung httx75 reciever started on fire
UPDATE - I sent in my unit and they repaired it free of charge, shipping both ways was paid by them as well. I had zero problems.
I have to admit, I am a little taken back still by the smoke bomb, but Samsung handled it professionally and took care of the unit.

Do what I do for every piece of electronic equipment I own, especially remote controls. Go to the manufacturer's Website and the go to support and download the user manual in PDF format and save it to your MY Documents file or whereever.
Surround Sound Not Playing For TV Programs
Greetings jdm12,
I can understand your problem, I have some what of the same issues with my home theater setup when watching events. One of the only suggestions I can make is adjusting the "Dolby Pro Logic II Mode". After reviewing your owners manual it appears you should be able to change the mode by pressing the PL II Mode button found in the lower keypad on your remote. It appears the options you should have are Music - Cinema - Pro Logic - Matrix - Stereo. You may want to try Music or Stereo when watching your events. In Stereo setting it should provide sound out of the front speakers and sub-woofer only. In Music, there are more processing that is done so you could hear more then just the front speakers.
I hope this makes your next your next PPV Party a big hit!

Samsung HT-TX72 Making noise after 2 months
The problem is the fan in the back of the receiver. A number of people have had this same problem. Somehow the fan rubs on itself when it is at the wrong angle. This also happens if the bearings give out.
You can very easily remove the top of the receiver. There's 2 screws on the sides and 4 on the back. The fan is held in by 2 screws. It is a 50mm 12V fan that you can probably get shipped to you for under $10. I have found some online for just a dollar. Type 50mm fan into google and buy one that is 12V (0.14A).
Or you can do what I did and battle with customer service for hours and hours. You most likely will have to pay the $25 to ship it to be serviced or you will be transferred to their parts retailer who tries to sell you one for $45. Eventually, if you are persistent, you might ask for the surpervisor's supervisor and with a steady tone manage to get the Samsung Service number (888.685.1349) where the friendly service agent will recognize your struggle and justly send you a fan for free or next to nothing.
Good luck!
Samsung code for a comcast cable box
The Remote w/ On Demand buttons, it's the same as the DVD player code 1932. Hit the AUX button, press and hold SETUP until AUX blinks and enter 1932. Press the power button and it should turn off the reciever.
*UNLOCKING VOLUME CONTROL* You must until your AUX volume control in order to use your Comcast remote. To do so, you must select AUX, press and hold SETUP until AUX blinks. Enter 9-9-3 and press Vol - (down). This should unlock your volume control when you select AUX. I'm not sure how to set AUX as your default setting for volume, unless you were to program your AUX device as your TV and vice versa I'd suspect.
Hope this helps!

Cooling fan in reciever noise.
Its necessary to run cooling fan because Amplifiers in home theater system produce heat during its operation. If you shut down cooling fan, Amplifier ICs may be damaged due to over heat.
Samsung ht-tx72 Issue
GEnerally speaking that behavior suggests that the video signal is being lost for a second and returns. The easiest thing to try is to replace the connection cable (video). A bad connection there could cause this although moving the cable should make this happen at will. Check the DVd player on another TV if possible. If hte player is the cause, the "new" TV should show the same symptoms.
The only other possibility is that the DVD player is having a problem generating the video signal. This could be because the disc is not being read correctly (I would expect the sound to be effected as well) or the video processing section of hte DVD player is defective. This wil be a bit more difficult to find.
Can you try the cable and other TV and update this?
Thanks,
Dan
