Yes, if you send an HTML format message to someone, and they are viewing emails in plain text, their Outlook may be adding extra lines. Check your Tools -> Options -> On the Preferences tab there should be an Email Options button. In Email Options there should be an option to Remove extra line breaks in plain text messages. It won't affect you when composing an email, but your recipients should make sure they have that checked if they are also using Outlook and reading email in Plain Text.
When you are composing emails you can hold the Shift key and press Enter to override the auto-double-space and Outlook will only do a single space.

I recently upgraded from 2003. Most times when I open Outlook on 2 computers i get an error msg: "Personal Data File did not close properly. Checking file. Outlook may not work properly while file is being checked." (not verbatim, but close)
How do I fix? Thanks.
Hope this solves it for you! Here's the official word from Microsoft:
If you receive one or more of these error messages, you may
experience performance issues until Outlook finishes the reconciliation process
for the .ost file or for the .pst file. The following gear icon is displayed in
the status bar while Outlook checks the data file in the background:
Collapse this imageExpand this image When this icon disappears, the .pst file or the .ost file is
reconciled. If you exit Outlook while the gear icon is present, reconciliation
must restart the next time that you run Outlook. We recommend that you leave
Outlook running until the gear icon disappears before you exit
Outlook.
An incorrectly shut down .ost file or .pst file may occur for
one of the following reasons:
If you see this issue frequently, and you have to exit Outlook
shortly before you shut down your computer, it may be better to shut down
Windows while Outlook is still running. We recommend that you do this instead
of exiting Outlook and then shutting down Windows shortly after that.

I've been running a free trial of outlook 2007, but cannot locate the product key. I've been keeping it open so that I don't have to enter the product key to reenter it. I thought it had been emailed to me originally, but now cannot locate such an email.
Type Office or 2007 in your mail search box so that it will shows all the mails containing Office or 2007 by that you can easily find the mail u needed.
Thanks & Regards
Nandu :)

hi, I opened an attachment from outlook, then modified it. I kept saving but on completion i must have forgotten to save it as a new file and instead just closed the attachment. Can i recover this?
If you still have this problem and are using Microsoft Office 2007, run registry editor (regedit.exe) and scroll to the following location:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Security
Copy the contents of the "OutlookSecureTempFolder" key and paste it in the Windows Explorer to open the OutlookSecureTempFolder. Your file will most probably be here. This location can not be browsed to and can only be found from the registry as it is different for all users. e.g. for myself it is as follows:
D:\Users\keekus\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Content.Outlook\R34DKK8O\

I need to remove the sign in box for Microsoft Office Outlook email account. How would I go about doing this. Thanks
Garry
As an old Oulook user (for over 10 years), I ever recover my forgotten Outlook with this password recovery software though it's not freeware.

My settings are set for html, but when someone sends me an html email, it's missing the fields and only contains the text.
In Outlook:
Tools
Options
Security
Under Download Pictures
Change Automatic
Download Settings
Uncheck "Don't Download...."
Uncheck "Warn me before
downloading...."

It is really beneficial tool to repair Outlook Data File (.pst) using this tool.

Hi i'm trying to send msg from outlook 2007, whatever email i'm sending they are returning with the following error " 553 sorry, that domain isn't in my list of allowed rcpthosts (#5.7.1)" Can i get a solution for this
This is not an outlook issue. This error is generated by the
recipient's mail server basically saying that your domain/server isn't
in their DNS list, so they don't trust your mail yet.
If you've
only recently set up your email system make sure that the DNS records
are all in place for your email domain - most notably your MX record
(should also consider SPF record.)
If you've recently set up the DNS records, then try giving them some more time to populate on the internet.
