I have the Bose Companion 3 Series II speakers. I

Hello,

I have had totally the same problem before, and I have discovered that it is actually because of the electric current running through the speakers when the volume is low or muted.

I am afraid to tell you that the only solution to this problem is to raise the volume, as it is not a malfunction in the speakers but in the electric current running through them.

Good luck.

Interferance on the speaker even when on stand by

Open up your computer the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good or you might have to clean the dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer hope this helps
