A webkey is a group of character , numbers and symbols used to access the internet though a wireless router.

To find this out type in your router ip address into your web broeser address bar for example 192.168.1.0

You will then be asked for a username and password, this depends on the router you have, a link below has some of them

Once you are on the router find the wireless setting and it will normally be displayed somewhere on that page. The webkey may also be classed as security encryption code and found on the security tab.

The DS Lite only supports WEP. If your access point uses WPA, you will need to set it to use the less secure WEP instead, or disable security overall,

Alternatively, you can get a second access point set up with WEP or no security dedicated to be used with the Nintendo DS.

You can change the start up mode of your DS lite by going into settings then options then start-up options. You can change it to start-up and play a game immediately.

You should maybe try reformatting again but make sure that you format to Fat 32

the problem is that the ds is defective what you need to do is see how much a new ds cost that your son would want then get a quote on how much it would take to fix it from: A) Nintendo B) Where you bought it from C) 3rd parties (i.e http://www.nintendorepairs.com/index.html or go to craigslist and search for ds repair)

The NDS is notorious for being able to accept only a certain kind of WIFI network encryption. if your network is using anything but standard WEP-key if will not connect.

A WEP key is a Security code but for some wireless providors a WPA-TKIP or WPA"-TKIp is used instead. check your connection details to find out which one yours uses and the use the appropriate settings.
Important notes would be that if your connection is using WPA-TKIP or WPA2-TKIP then the DS or DS lite will not be able to connect because they can only use WEP keys. If the system you are using is the Nindento DSi then all you need to do is to use connections 4, 5 and 6 found in Advanced Conection Settings under the internet option in the DSi Settings menu ( remember this method is only for use with other wireless securities than WEP keys like WPA-TKIP and WPA2-TKIP.)
