Red light comes on but there is no picture
Could be a number of things. Sometimes those tiny pressure pads under the buttons tend to stick... l.e.d comes on but TV does not. Danger is popping the buttons out to fix it, you may not be able to get it back in.. but that's the good news.
Was there any electrical damages, such as lightning or faulty wiring? Did you smell anything burning, like hot plastic? Does it make a high pitched but barely audible whine when you turn it on? And does it work on any input at all, either VGA/Svideo or the Component/HDMI ports?
Loss of power it wont turn on
Sounds like a component failure in the circuit.possibly been power surged if you did not have it plugged through a good surge protector.
I have a JVC lt-46am73 tv. Yesterday the power
Hi Ron. Sorry that you are having problems... I know how frustrating it can be. The problem is most likely your Power Supply Board. The capacitors used on the Boards for most sets made in the last 10yrs use an extremely cheap and unreliable capacitor. If you can take the back off of your set, take a look at the board where your Power Supply Plug goes in. On that board, take a look at the capacitors. If you need to - you can Google, "pictures of bad capacitors" and you'll see exactly what a blown capacitor looks like. If the tops are not completely flat across, there is any "doming" to the tops, the scored "+" on top of the capacitor has any spacing, cracking, and/or shows where any liquid has escaped... you have a bad capacitor. You can replace these capacitors and/or pay someone to do it for you, but I always advise to just power a new Power Supply Board. They are very easy to install. You can typically pick one up for a couple hundred $$ and save your TV from a junked fate. Hope this helps and good luck.
Tv won't turn on
This is a frustrating problem, but more details are required to solve it. Have you found the power switch on the TV? Are the batteries installed properly (facing the right way) in the remote? Is the TV connected to a working power circuit? If power is getting to the TV and the power switch doesn't work, I'd return the TV.
