20 Most Recent Frigidaire Affinity 5.8 Cu. Ft. Electric Dryer Questions & Answers

Hi Friend, this is Z. I am happy to assist you!

I see that you have a Frigidaire Affinity dryer and I'm presuming you are seeking information on how to clear error codes on your dryer. May I please have your model number? The serial tag, which lists your model number, is typically located on the upper front, as you open the door. With this information I can help pinpoint the exact problem. In the meantime, you can reset your dryer by either unplugging your dryer or flipping off the breaker for roughly ten minutes. This often clears most false error codes. Hope this helps!

Hello Louis, thank you for your post!
From my understanding your Frigidaire dryer is stopping and multiple lights are blinking. I would suggest performing a reset on your dryer and you can do that by disconnecting power from it for at least ten minutes. If that does not help resolve your issue it could be a possible problem with your control panel or a wiring harness within the dryer. You may need to seek additional assistance from a professional technician for a complete diagnosis to be completed. Best of luck! -Matt

Hello friend, thank you for your post!
Based off the information you have provided you have replaced the element on your Frigidaire dryer and now it will not power on. You could need to have your control panel, wiring harness, or power cord replaced. Since it could be anyone of these underlying issues I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help prevent you from purchasing any unnecessary parts. Hopefully this information is helpful. -Matt

Hello Robin, thank you for your post!
From the information you have provided your Frigidaire dryer is making a loud high pitched squeaking noise. This noise could be coming from your belt, motor, or spider arm. In order to find out which component might need to be replaced you would need to disassemble the dryer. We would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper repair. Improper disassembly of the dryer could result in personal injury or a problem with the dryer later in its life cycle. I hope that this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Not familiar with this one but it has to check door switch and most have a thermal fuse (start fuse) located near or on the blower wheel that goes bad. Check with ohm meter.

Good Afternoon Friend, this is Z. Thank you for your inquiry!

Normally error code E64 is an indication that the heater circuit is in the open position. This is not a simple DIY job; I would highly recommend consulting a professional to move forward accurately. The certified technician will need to check the heater coils and connections for open circuits. Depending on the diagnosis the heater or wiring may need replacing.

Good Afternoon Friend,

I understand you are receiving an E64 code on your Frigidaire Affinity dryer. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Sometimes there can be a miscommunication between the different boards inside your appliance. Restore power and try any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. If further troubleshooting is needed, please leave me your model number, so I am able to better assist. Hope this is helpful.

Thermistor or high limit switch has tripped; usually due to low air flow from lint build-up or vent blockage. OR, the heating element went bad and a new one can be ordered. In some cases, I have received new thermal switches with the element. It's a job getting the dryer apart and inspecting the element, but you need to know for sure before you have a fire or a control board failure.

Good Morning Friend,

I understand you are receiving an E63 code on your Frigidaire Affinity dryer and want to know what it means. The E63 code means that there is possibly something going on with the heating element or some wiring inside your dryer. This can also be a false code. Please try resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your home's circuit breaker, for 3-5 minutes. Restore power and try any cycle. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.

Good Morning Friend,

I understand that your Frigidaire Affinity dryer is taking double the time to dry a small load of clothes. I also see that you have put a new dryer hose on the back of your appliance to try and correct this issue. I suggest making sure that you have also cleaned out the lint filter as well as where the lint filter sits. You can clean the lint filter by running it under the hottest water you can stand and using a cleaning brush, gently, to remove any build-up. You can clean where the lint filter sits with a small attachment on your vacuum. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful.
