Insignia 32" 720p Flat-Panel LCD HDTV - Page 4 Questions & Answers
I have a Insignia 32 inch LCD TV Model number
The first troubleshooting step would be to measure all the voltages from the power supply to the other circuits boards specially the 5 volts going to the main board. If you have the following: Insignia 6HA0112010 Power Supply, check FU502 for open conditions.
If all the voltages appear normal, then the main board should be replace since is hard to find individual components for a component level repair.

When I turn on tv,
You probably have some bad electrolytic capacitors on the power supply module. The caps will be bulged or mushroomed at the top rather than flat if they need to be replaced. Parts are very inexpensive. I've fixed many of these sets by replacing bulged caps on the power supply for having same symptom of yours. That would be the first place I would start. A repair shop would probably get between $100-$150 to replace these parts if you wanted go that route.
Ramdom channel searching
you must go to menu / tools settings and switch the auto channel scan off and just set it to ch 3 (for cable/dish) or to channel you wish
No Sync message on the TV screen
Is the VGA port enabled? Have you set the computer to send data to the port? (The first may be part of the BIOS or the Device Manager. The second is in the graphics properties - right click on the desktop.) Reboot the computer to make sure it sees the new hardware with the monitor/TV on. Is the cable good? Try another one.
I hope this helps.

My tv wont turn on and has a funny sound coming from the speakers
it may have bad capacitors inside the tv. this will usually malfunction when it is cold, and work better once it warms up. you can open the tv and look for bulged or puffed up caps, or take to a service professional. caps that go bad will just be a nuisance at first and eventually will disable the set completely.

Place a 2 to 3 prong AC adapter on the power cord. It will isolate the ground and should fix your problem.
I hope this was helpful, best wishes.
ALL DVD'S REJECT AND WON'T PLAY
prolly bad laser or mechanism. don't bother to replace it.
it is very expensive repair . would cost you nearly as much as the set itself.
Replacing exploded capacitor
Now it's OK to replace the cap, however in all probability it will fail again real soon, as you have NOT found the "Cause" you are treating the "Symptom" not the "Cause". One MUST remedy the "Cause" of this fault, FIRST, it is usually caused by AC ripple, Electrolytic Capacitors, hate over Voltage and AC. Also if a Cap has exploded, then you do have real issues, generally over-voltages. Most likely coming from the faulty switchmode PSU, I would also expect "Collateral" component damage in the "area" as well. check all IC's Diodes, & Transistors "Attached" to that cap. Be careful and good luck. Use GO contact cleaner, or similar, to remove residue..
