I have an 8 GB iPod touch that is now disabled because I can't remember the 4 digit code. The message on the iPod's screen says, 'iPod is disabled. Connect to iTunes.' The computer that I originally used with it has recently crashed. When I installed iTunes on my new computer and connected the iPod Touch to it, a message appears saying, 'Can't connect iPod, please enter 4 digit code.' What is my next course of action?
Thanks to everyone who provided solution inputs. I finally have my iPod back. The solution is: 1. Turn of your iPod. 2. While holding down the 'Home' button, connect to iTunes WARNING: Doing this will return your iPod back to original 'out of the box' settings and you will lose everything. On the bright side, you get a 'fresh' start and it will auto update to the most recent software version. Good luck!

I can't see my iPod Touch in "my computer", do I have to use iTunes? it is really annoying I would rather just do copy and paste.
Does anyone had this problem before?
Rich
one way to show your ipod touch in my computer is next: connect to internet through safari, save a random image from any web site to your ipod touch by holding your finger on the preferred image until a save image option appears, save the image. now connect your ipod and woila!

I connect my iPod to my computer and neither iTunes nor my computer recognizes my iPod. My iPod will start to charge but the battery meter varies greatly. Both my computer and iTunes recognize my wife's 30gb video and her sister’s 2gb nano when connected. Can you please help me?
when i hook my ipod touch up to the computer it nore the itunes detects it what so ever shall i do
The best solution to fix this problem is really simple. Only works on Ipod Nano or any other Ipod [Except Touch And Shuffle]. All you gotta do is:
1. Keep Ipod with the usb cable connected to your computer.
2. Reset your Ipod by pressing the round button and menu button at the same time and hold it for about 3 to 5 seconds.
3. After the Ipod reset is complete it should show the icon or itunes should pop up with the icon and your done. Works almost 100% of the time.

I have this error too! Hope Apple can solve this! I cannot connect to the internet with Safari too! May I must downgrade my software? I've wasted 600 yen for that ****!
Do the following... On your Touch go to Settings -> General -> Reset -> Reset Network Settings..... When it starts again got to Settings -> About and check to see if your Wi-Fi Address has been Reset. Hope that helps

Recognises my wifi but still can't connect tom safari/youtube etc
I FIXED MINE THIS MORNING!!!
try this! If your iTouch says you are connected to your network but you can't surf and you've been able to connect in the past...you have to reset your network connections on your iTouch.
Go to Settings
Go to General
Go down to Reset
Go to Reset Network Settings
It will ask for your iTouch Passcode...enter it
Then, hit the red "Reset Network Settings"
After that, go back to "Wi-Fi" in Settings...
...and connect to your network again. It might ask you for your WEP password, if it does, enter it.
The IP Address, Subnet Mask, Router and DNS fields should now have entries in them.
Surf Away!!
Hope that works for you. It worked for me!!!

on the ipod touch the itunes icon comes out and their is a usb cable with an arow pointing to the itunes icon. I plug it into i tunes and a message comes out saying that Itouch is locked and must be unlocked first. BUT I CANT GET TO THE KEYS to unlocke it because the icon with the arrow re-apears.
make sure you're USB is unplugged. when you're at the screen with the itunes symbol and the usb arrow, hold down the home and sleep button until the screen goes black, at this point, keep holding for another 10 seconds. at this point your screen should look black as if the ipod is off. connect to the computer and itunes shoulds show a message like "itunes has just discovered an ipod in recovery mode" you'll be able to do a restore and regain use of your touch.
if this does not work, message me back.

hi i'm trying to unlock my password to my new itouch and i never put in a paswword can you help?
if you do not know your passcode then make sure it is plugged in 2 the cp and make sure the itouch is on the screen where it says enter passcode. then you hold the power and home button at the same time until the itouch completely turns off and then you keep on holding both buttons until the apple logo again. and after that appears, you let go of the power button but you keep holding the home button until the itouch says its connected to itunes. and then you are allowed to access it on itunes. then you need to restore it and it will restore ur hole ipod and there will not be a passcode anymore
