Good Morning bernie3003 - For this particular model, the control on the door is the brain which controls all the functions of the unit. If the temperature inside the unit is not reading the correct temperature, then there might be a thermistor or wiring issue between the thermistor and the main control board on the door. I would personally contact a professional to accurately diagnose the refrigerator to determine the root cause to reduce the risk of unnecessary parts.

It sounds like the sensor has come off the back of the evaporator in the fridge section.

Turn the fridge freezer round and look at the back, on the back at the top left hand side you will see a cable going into the plastic covering the back. Now measure 5 inches from the top of the cabinet and then 5 inches from the left hand side......... now dig.

About 2 inches from the surface you will find the sensor inside a metal holder, check to make sure this is firmly pressed against the evaporator (you might find the tack welds have come off), so you might have to stick a little wedge in to push the sensor against the evap properly.

Now fill the hole you just made with expandable foam.

Leave overnight and all should be OK. with a bit of luck the sensor is actually working and not gone 'out of range'.

Try to reduce the thermostat. Else yu might have a gas leak and should get it fixed.

What is the temperature in the freezer? Check to see if there is a fan switch on the schematic diagram, if so jump it out and see if it runs.

Hi,

On the front display take part the glass sets on and pull it out and there is two screws, remove them and push it up and take off ,, behind is the levers ,,, it is held in by little supports and a spring ,,, look at old one before taking it out to be sure to put the spring back on right and put back together.
