Lightning Audio B2.300.4 Car Audio Amplifier Questions & Answers
Lightning Audio b2.3000.4 is in
- Only a select few things can cause protect mode with the battery only connected.
- An installation issue. Check the Power, Ground and Remote wires. Make sure non are shorting from one terminal to the other.
- It is still overheated and has not had time to cool down from being in thermal protect mode.
- The amp itself is touching metal. You always want something non conductive between the amp and where it is mounted, this includes the screws being used to anchor the amp. They should never touch the metal in the car either.
- The final thing that can cause an amp to go into protect mode while only hooked to the battery is the amp itself is malfunctioning and or defective. You can try opening the amp and look for any black spots on the circuit board where an electrical component might have smoked up or blown and replace that part.

My amp is protected
Hello zurdoelteipe,
Sounds like a faulty speaker or speaker wiring. Or if you have 2 or more of the channels bridged, it's possible the impedance load is too low for the amp to support.
Try disconnecting the output wires one at a time and then power back up.
How would i wire up the lightning audio bolt model # b 350.1 single channel aml to two 12 inch 8 ohm subs
That amp seems to support 2ohm and 4 ohm loads. You cannot get down to 2ohms with 2 8ohm loads (subs).
So, you need to wire them in parallel so that the load is divided among the resistance of their voice coils (2 8ohm paths means the driving circuitry (amp) experiences 4ohms of resistance because ... physics, basically). Wire the + and - terminals of the subs together and attach them at the amps + and - speaker output terminals.
DO NOT run them in series. 2 8ohm loads in a row means the amp sees the loads added together, 16ohm. And its not rated for that, you could blow the amp by making try to drive a load that is too 'heavy' for it.
the turn the amp gain all the way down, turn the head unit up until you hear the normal sprakers start to distort (that f@rty worbbly muddy sound), then turn the volume back until it goes away and the full fidelity (faithfulness to the input signal) returns. Then turn the amp gain up until the subs distort, and back a touch until they stop. Turn the system back down at the head unit. Your system is now balanced to the maximum volume it can reproduce, adjust to taste from there. And remember to thump responsibly.
Rms watts per channel @ 4 ohms
Take the peak to peak power rating and multiply it by .727
that should be the RMS watts.
You don't have to worry too much about new stuff, but if you are using an older stereo amplifier that is rated for 8 ohm speakers then you should not use 4 ohm or they will pop the finals in the amp.
You could use 2X 4 ohm speakers in series on every channel and it should be ok.
Help with code radio for my nissan pp2787h
The radio code is a security feature that's meant to deter theft, and it's unique to each vehicle. If you've lost your code, you'll need to contact a Nissan dealership or service center and provide proof of ownership. They should be able to help you retrieve the code. Please do not attempt to use codes from the internet as incorrect attempts may lock your radio.

No sound from wireless headphones in a toyota sienna
First thing to do is check to make sure that the batteries are properly charged.
Second, make sure that you have a clear line-of-site to the IR transmitter. Infrared (IR) works the same way that your TVs remote control works - if the signal is blocked, then you will not hear any sound.
Third, make sure that you are in the rear seat of the vehicle when listening to the sound. The IR transmitter only transmits to the rear seat, so you will not hear any sound if you are sitting in the front seats. This is a common problem that i see.
Lastly, make sure that the heapdhones you purchased are compatible with your 2006 2007 2008 2009 or 2010 Toyota Sienna. Remember that some older models require RF headphones, not IR headphones. I checked http://www.audiovideo2go.com for compatibility before I purchased my headphones. They have a useful listing of all the headphones and models of vehicles they are compatible with.
