On many of the Viper models, the symptom you are describing is because the remote battery is low. The remote can't be too far from the vehicle. If it is, the system see it as you forgot about the vehicle being remote started, and shuts it back down. A weak battery creates a weak signal and makes the unit 'think' you are far away. The Viper website has instructions on how to disable the whole system, there are many different versions, so find the box and get the model number from it, you will need that to get any further.

I assume you are talking about the sound the body computer generates, I would suggest taking it to the dealer to get it re-programed if that is the problem.

I don't believe that you need to configure it. It should be preconfigure to work. What i think after revising the manual and from past experience with car remotes, the type of socket used for the battery inside the remote itself is often missing or broken solder. To make this more clear, the battery socket might need to be resolder on the small circuit board inside your remote. good luck

you can charge it from your computer if you have a mini usb cable like one from a camera would work. Also if you have an old cell phone charger that has the mini usb connector on the end will work. The motorola driod x charger would be a perfect match. It is possible that you need to reprogram the remote. 1st you need to enter the remote into programming... Hold the Function button until the remote gives a long beep and LED light comes on the remote a (it takes about 8 sec.) Then press and hold the remote start buttom until the remote beeps 3 times and LED lights up. Now your ready to program the remote One of the door has to be open .
