Unit shuts down every 59 sec. No matter how much

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding. The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle. Dacor-branded PCOR30-series microwaves are just cosmetically altered versions of the Sharp R1870-series ovens. These Sharp-made models stop after 59 seconds when there's damper toruble. See the attached sample drawing below for a typical damper assembly. We have the applicable service manuals for the Sharp models and have uploaded it to our site here and here to help you in disassembling and troubleshooting your Dacor version. You can find the Dacor PCOR parts list here and you can order Dacor parts by part number here. If a switch is all you need, we offer a universal type for only $7.50 postpaid which you can order here. You will have to remove the oven from the wall and remove the outer cover to access, test & replace damper parts.Just refer to your installation instructions. You can remove the control panel assembly, then you'll be able to see the door opening parts.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

The Dacor PCOR30 is essentially a rebranded Sharp R-1874, so the relevant Sharp service manuals (here and here) will help you with disassembly if you need more help.

The Sharp manuals will not have the proper Dacor part numbers.

For that, see the Dacor PCOR parts list here.

Our favorite place to order Dacor parts is by part number from the Pros here.

The microwave stops after 50-60 seconds regardless

The PCOR30 microwaves are essentially a rebranded Sharp R-1870-series ovens.

This is a problem in one of the damper-related components, either the switch or motor or the damper door may be binding.

The damper is a door inside that opens or closes depending on cooking mode. If the controller senses that the door is not in the right position, it will shut down the cook cycle.

Sharp models stop after 59 seconds.

See the attached sample drawing for a typical damper assembly.

The service manuals that cover these models are here:

http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r1870_r1871_sm.pdf
http://www.microwavedisplay.com/r1850_r1851_sm.pdf

The above manuals will not have Sharp part numbers, not the Dacor part numbers, but they should work, and you can order them from
the Sears Parts Directimage-4235112-10659157 site.

But if you're leery or unsure, you can look up the Dacor part numbers in the part list here, then order by part number from the Pros here.

Heating element

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch, a loose door switch mount, or a problem on the control panel.

It's probably the lower switch.

Even though a door switch clicks, it may still be bad inside. Its continuity must be checked.

Door switch or mount trouble can be caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

The screws on these mounts may be loose. If they get too loose, the switches will not be activated properly.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. Other times, it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

If you or someone you know decide to look into it, we have critical information on safety, disassembly and door switches at our site, and our link is at our listing here on FixYa: http://tinyurl.com/yzjozk

If you think the problem is on the control panel, we repair these nationwide by mail for $39.95 postpaid in most cases.

Please feel free to contact me directly if you need more help.

Sharp R530EK

This is usually caused by either a bad door switch or a loose door switch mount, which are pretty simple problems to fix.

Door switch or mount trouble is usually caused by slamming the door or by opening the door while it's cooking without hitting the Stop pad first.

There are plastic mounts inside the microwave which hold the door switches and onto which the door latches lock when you close the door.

Sometimes it's a broken tab on the switch holder, allowing the switch to rotate just out of position. This tab can be hard to see, since it is under the bottom edge of the switch.

One test that sometimes helps is to gently lift up (and/or push down) on the door or handle as you try to start it. If it works or tries to work, then it's a door switch mount or door alignment issue.

We have the service manual for this model and have uploaded it to our site here to help you.

You will need the
free Acrobat Reader to view or print it in case you don't have it.

If you only need a switch, you can order a universal type here for $5 postpaid.

Otherwise, the best place to order parts for this brand is Encompass (formerly Tritronics).

Or you can call them toll-free at 866-779-5835.
