Possibly the wrong version of windows. Could be a driver issue may be a RAM issue could be just a faulty hdd.

For different Windows OS, there are suitable ways to unlock the computer. Or what preparation you make for before your computer locked.
For example, you can access Windows XP in safe mode. Unlock computer in safe mode is effective way.
If you have a password reset disk, reset windows 7 with boot disk is another choice.

I would download Advanced System Care including their Malware fighter, (All free programmes). Use their Uninstal programme to remove AVG.
Let ASC run all of the tasks.
Speed Up Slow Computer Keep PC and Internet Secure Freeware Download IObit
AVG is a waste of time compared to the other programmes out there. Makes your computer hang and run very slowly.

Not to be silly is your computer connected to your ISP as this seems to be the case especially if you have just redone or installed windows.

You will need to reinstall drivers go to drivers in control panel device manager one of them should have yellow mark on it right click it and update drivers.
if this does not work right click and go to properties details and copy exactly what come up then do a search for it

You may need a system disc. Downloadable from Microsofts web site.
Check the bios setting and ensure drive C is first boot device, if it is you will need to put the system disc in the dvd drive and choose repair. If there is no hdd, check the plug and socket on the end of the drive and prepare to purchase a new drive.
