compaq presario SR5310F

why down grade from dead, to super dead for 3 years now XP
why do that? XP is a virus magnet. (hint 2, and glowing)
your offical page is here.
on real HP site, (we are not here)

click software
click OS
see what you get. ONLY VISTA support
now I can make it work with 1/2days labor.
but why do that? why ever use XP,
USB only works 1/2 way with XP SP3 added
and PLUG AND PLAY ON XP IS DEAD, making other 1/2 dead. for ever an ever.

if pain is your game, here is how.

drivers. ( my PCI sniffer lets me find (if possible at all) Any driver on earth. (unless reading every chip lid is fun....)

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Aug 14, 2017

Might be worth trying the device manager to see if a driver is lurking on the internet somewhere.

If not it should be possible to update your sound card. Inserting a card into an expansion slot should switch off any integrated audio.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Aug 11, 2017

this is an english only forum.
google translate works, try that?

why do that, what caused you to start playing with processors.
you can NOT just throw in any processor you want
the HP documents long gone now on this old old relic PC
tells you what processors this PC supports.
usually just a one class and just 5 or so in a class.
if you google your PC you find these words

: Intel 5 Series (Pentium 4)
see that 5 there, only this series works and only those allowed
by HP in that series work.
no boot
why not put the PC back as you found it.
the post, why does not PC not boot and know its not the processor 99.99% of the time .
step 1 is power, do you have full DC power out of you PSU
2 yes, does the monitor test out ok on other PC.
3: does the BIOS screens work.
yes,yes and yes, means the HDD software is corrupted or or the HDD is dead.

to test any HDD I use Knoppix live DVD to test it.

i see this too
there are 4 PCs with that model , the service tag shows p/n::
this code tells the helper what motherboard is there and what processors are used.
ok i found the page that shows how to decode the p/n on service tag.
old old lost book, see code 560 there, ? bingo.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Aug 09, 2017

XP sure.
we are not HP (compaq ) why not ask at HP forum real for 1000x better and faster answers, yah?

the correct drivers were at HP support page, after 10 years,
they drop support. XP is dead so Microsoft Plug in play is now dead.
as is VISTA this year.
if at wits end, I do this. (ask) how.
what I do is use PCI scanner to learn what chips is there SOUND.
then go to the makers site and get it from them, on legacy machines
that is all you can do.

You didnt buy the HP media kit so only this is found.

ok you luck out today, its 2008 machine 1 more year and its gone
here is the VISTA sound/audio driver.

why not look at HP first. ?

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Aug 08, 2017

never post personal data here, please.
country is great, I applaud you, me in texas.
I used to work for Philips Semi. so... state side long ago, intel before that for 7 years.

but we need the Service tag model to know what you have.
or all answers are wrong,. in most cases. (oops me wrong)
only XP (newest) asks for F6 floppy, time to upgrade to w7. for sure.
i guess you missed all that bad news in UK
with the XP virus taking down the hospitals there. sad to watch
we are below 1% XP now in usa and falling like rock.
(not counting USA MIL)
ITS DOS 3. right?

the date is set in BIOS, easy, (me wrong hard takes a setup prog)
but the BIOS CMOS NVRAM coin cell battery must be good
and it bet you %100 its not. over 5 years no, 7-10 never good.

the only floppies are found used, disks and drives
there is a USB loopy drive sold, that works. if usb ports are there and work.
is said PC for personal use,or for CNC mill.
usage is important, in all cases. some are used as toy
other on the net,
others only for Word 95.
the PC has drivers at the HP site, i can link you but only with the red arrow data on the tag below.
btw: we are not HP.

DOS 3? 6?
what os, windows 95/98/w2k/xp/vista/w7/8/10, freedos, o/s2/
XP was the last to ask F6 at install. is that it?
F6 is for drivers. not supported THEN.

omg, i even repaired those long long ago, thanks for the memories.
suit case PC,

running DOS ! 3?
wow, why are you doing this for a museum?
12 whole megaherz then, and 640k of ram Gill Bates said was plenty . we ran WORD STAR THEN !

w8000 a very old PC not supported by HP.
windows 2000 support ended like 15 years ago.. W2k. is gone. w2k only runs on very old pcs with very old ACPI
(power controls is that)

this PC is only supported with XP
never 2000.
HP tells you that if you looked.
park the 2000 disk or use it as frezzbee. IMO

id get w7 disk and use that, it might work.
but will cost you a license from MS,
about 5 times the value of w8000

why not just go here, and get used $20 w7 pc
save a bundle of case and grief messing with any legacy junk....avoid legacy junk and win.

buy a 20 year new PC for $20?

its junk. (sorry, all this is)
AGP is a junk PC.
sorry but why play with old old iron like this/

youre not clear on the target system!
post the PC under test, full model
or its service tag model.

our post sounds like you are mixing parts between to PCs

not sure. ill attempt to decode that to English
long hand. form... i will try and fail.
HP ProLiant ML330 Base ATA Module 230541-001
that is relic. year 2001? 16 YEARS OLD?

its and old IDE, PATA drive controller, why use this?
PATA is DEAD tech.
you can not put a Proliant card in any PC.
no PC stated at all just PC on of 10,000 made in 36 years.

i tried to turn off video what, add a noun here, please.

well NO PC stated, but remove the AGP card,
then there no GPU CHIPS, THEN...
then add that proliant card, see that it fails
that carD is for server running server BIOS.
mixing server parts , with home products will not work.

that card proliant has BIOS of its own and is only for PROLIANT servers period, best i know..

why not find PC that is 10 years and newer for near nothing,, in the USA PCs are in GLUT status.
and dirt chip,(not new, used)

why not ask on the HP forum business side
and get some laughs... or not?> maybe they will go easy on you? (LOL)

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jul 10, 2017

C61 what it has a full name never use just the prefix
100,200,300 or 400, yes 4 generations.
what OS< we can not ever guess Op.sys you run ever.
I guess you meant WINDOWS PW????? not BIOS?

hp can help best why ask here we are not HP, at all, just chat bs.
my guess its XP, and is easy to hack.

if you wanted you could google this, ever google.
type," how to reset XP passwords"

bingo, like 1million answers, from 17 long years of hacking that.
we can hack them all up-to w81. not 10.
the model 100 had VISA and w7 offered then, and now.
if hacking is no fun (sure endless virus those places )
ask HP< they might help you. most do.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jul 03, 2017

Not yog, YOKE. The part with all the coiled wired that slips over the end of the crt. The part will be VERY difficult to locate because the CRT's are no longer manufactured, so neither are the parts for the crt such as the yoke. In any event, if you do find one, it is a pain in the ....to replace as you must completely re-align the picture after you change it. Not really a do-it-yourself thing ig you don't understand how that process works. It's usually a 2 or 3 hour job, plus the part, so really with the cost of the new monitors being so low and the incredible picture on the new ones? It's really not worth repair.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jul 02, 2017

no PC stated, no MODEL (the service tag on the bottom tells you)
nor any OS stated, operating, system (the boot screen gives that away. windows 98.NT,2000,XP,Vista, W7,w8,w10?????

what does the screen look like, here.
BIOS PW protected.??
or is the Microsoft login screen>?
for the PW , backdoor fix. ask here. real HP is here.

for Microsoft, you will need to show photos of the screen
Windows, version all but W10 have easy hack for password.
Windows 10 , not so... (MS says reload OS to fix that , with F11 key)

for order version, ask at the same site above, for hacks.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jul 02, 2017

old post, but here are the official books
sounds like a bad LCD panel, or gross power loss (low)
or overheating GPU, (graphics chip)
first makes sure fans work correctly remove lent
test with the battery removed, and if you twist screen or base gently if LINES CHANGE shape or form, bingo, bad screen.
the resets for all HP laptops is answered at HP.com

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jul 01, 2017

what compaq use real models numbers clearly.
panel sounds desktop like.
ever heard of PC repair shop.
we have
1.1 Bilion Computers. on earth now.
guess what , vast numbers of shops with certified technicians
every where, on earth, were there are people.

is the screen dead, ? no text ever, and BIOS dead.
if a desktop the PSU is dead.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jun 29, 2017

is this a desktop or laptop? my guess, desktop with windows 95
an antique if ever.
why play with 486 pc, is this for fun ,kicks or pure pain'
why, name one good reason.?
the books are gone now. at HP and google finds none.
why not go the BIOS screen see that now.
then read off whos bios it is, Pheonix>?or AMI, Award, and more.
who's is it?
then read the version, with that we can get you a matching relic BIOS book on just that one BIOS.
there is no other way.... oops but its over 15 years old.... oops.
even 22 years old possible, wow, you are like first one here ever post this old. pc.
all modern PC have a hot key for BIOS>

the oldest pc like this has no hot key for BIOS,
it must run setup.exe program to configure BIOS.
why in the world mess with this old junk pc when you can buy f
for $20 a used pC only 10 years old. why?
this so confusing, where are you, we are in USA and are in glut status in used pC.

we have the GOODWill for that and $20 you are rich here.
even less !

I the USA we send your PC to the trash and and other guy pulls it and send it to GOLD reclamation. yah, its worthless cept for tiny bits of gold....

here is the old relic rules

there are only 2 ways,
Hot keys, if applicable then , hot keys happened later in evolution then,
and a setup program, from a floopy or on a hidden HDD partition
i bet long long go lost.

Compaq Computers... | Answered on Jun 29, 2017

wow what a complex post.
why not tell a story, use notepad, and type it and paste it here so we can see whats UP?
what are you attempting, seems the Projector is dead, right>
what cable, did you use a short direct VGA cable.
is it VGA> seems yes, you said, Fn-F4 so is VGA
my guess is its custom long cable you made bought or?
what does this line mean.???
With my Desktop is not problem!

i can not understand any of this , and ive run projectors 100s even 1000s of feet, in airports and other huge , venues.

my guess is you do not understand video and its limits.
you can not send high resolution to a old projector
and windows 10 does not run low reso. unless force
windows 10 does not run old obsolete displaces or chips at all.
now.. they are obsolete... i can list 1000s dead now... can.
The DLP projector is a very cool thing,Texas Instruments based magic.
but is old and has 1024 x 768 native resolution
so to get that to work with XP,.W7, W8 or W10
the latter is most hard, as W10 does not work and low reso.
(means not automatically work)
you have to force it.
(btw, in say xp/w7 go to safe mode F8 and force low reso.)

to do that SAY< in w10, you'd rigth click your desktop screen
go to settings then advanced display settings
click screen pick display setting, at bottom of that screen pick advance settings.
then pick above reso.
i just did and screen goes SQUARE 4:5 mode.
ugly by todays standards.
not plug in the projector and press Fn +F4 bingo, out it goes.
keep in mind some GPU chips many not allow this.
id need to know each chip in each machine used to answer that.
if the projector fails now, then try a regulor desktop monintor now
at the PC under test VGA port does it doe above reso.
yes then the projector has issues.
all this done with short 3'ft standard VGA cable as see on back of
all VGA monitors use that to test and get that work ing before using wild custom cables, unstated by you...
but youve posted before on this setup, have you not.
