A dvd burner will burn anything you tell it to burn, the things is you need certain programs to see what the extension was that you burnt.

EX- if you burn a DIVX file, windows media player won't see it, but it will see a WMP file.

The most important thing is the burning software, makes it easy to burn boot, ISO files, video.

But like I said, a DVD burner will burn anything you tell it to burn.

Firstly enter the bios screen and set your boot device from HD to USB. Insert your bootable USB drive and start the machine.

Assuming you have iTunes installed....

Connect iPod, when iTunes opens, you can go to File ---> Add File to Library (or press Ctrl+O), find the music file on your harddrive, highlight, and click ok. You can then manage the id3 tags (Genre, Artist, etc) by right-clicking on the song, and selecting "Get Info"

Hope this helps!

I am pretty sure you can't boot an OS from a USB. Burn the install media to a disc or put it on a spare partition. USB boot is for anti-virus or PC Diagnostic Tools.

That sounds like your hard drive may be dead...

Xp had a lot of issues with shutdown early on, but they should have been mostly resolved.

1. Make sure windows is up to date, IE all updates.
2. Make sure all drivers are up to date.
3. Run some anti virus/adware/spyware programs, could be something preventing your computer from shutting down.
4. You aren't unplugging and USB/firewire devices without stopping it first are you?

If you are more than just a beginner you can attach that drive to your PC and run a drive copy program that will create an exact image of your current drive. Once that is created then you can add the new drive to the computer make sure your system recognizes it and can boot from it. I have done this many times.

Dead PC, PC fans totally dead
that most times means PSU dead, or shorted modules inside PC> (im sure the power switch wire, to the mobo did not fall off) and the green LED on back of PSU is glowing green , (per manual HP ) means AC power side is good.

SR1200 series desktop made in fact in the Compaq plant in Texas.
2004 newest 2002, oldest.
if the coin cell is that old, it is bad.
none ever last that long; 14 years to 16year old batteries are no good. but a DMM check will not lie to you. 2.9v min, lower bad.

If both fans are dead , the PSU is bad.
in some cases, (no pun) we open the case
power off, (ac cord pulled)
push power on to discharge all caps in the PC,
normally one sees the CPU fan spin for 1 seconded and die. (but that is good PC yours is not)

we remove all power wires from the PSU from it
to HDD, to CD, drives, and to floppy 4 pin power
we do that because shorted devices, cause all PSU to shut down. even in 1/2 of second or LESS.
by design (ATX spec) this prevents fire, in the case/psu.
plug in PC, AC and push power, do fans run now, both must run , not just one fan.
power off again, ac line pulled, push power button again, to discharge things,
now

The once all those pig tails from PSU to THINGS are pulled , but not your MAIN 20 pin connector to mobo
we do what, we remove ram and test each stick 1 by one.
doing same tests, AC line pulled. remove RAM.
but 1 stick reseat it, and test for power on again.

if you have the original DDR memory sticks test them 1 by 1, each. ok>? they can short too. 94c62a99-50e0-4817-b127-42fc295914d0.jpg
