Boot it up using the osx disk.

I would start by attempting too restart. If this does not fix it, open Disk Utility (Applications -> Utilities -> Disk Utility). From here click verify permissions and then verify disk. If either of those come up with errors, then click the corresponding solution (repair permissions or repair disk). This should solve any problems you are having, but if it does not, Insert the USB drive that your MacBook Air came with and reinstall the OS. Good Luck!

After solution got on it - does that mean that liquid was spilled on the computer? Unfortunately, there is very little you can do to repair this without access to specific parts and tools. You can go to iFixIt.com and look at teardown instructions for your specific model of MacBook Air, but it is difficult and has a significant risk of damage. Recommend if you need the camera, take it to an Apple qualified repair shop.

This means that the sensor of the lid is probably damaged or detecting a magnetic field somewhere. Somewhere on the left edge, if you hold a magnet, you will see the laptop go to sleep. Make sure there is no magnet close there. You can disable the laptop from going to sleep if it "sees" the lid closing. Make then only sure that you need to let the laptop sleep by yourself.

I would recommend getting an application called clean my mac, it will dig through your mac and trash unneccesary language files and what not, you can also use it to completely uninstall apps. Try:

1. Turn your MacBook Air off by holding down the power button for about 10 seconds.
2. Hold down one of the Shift keys and press the power button for a few seconds. Keep holding the shift key for about 1/2 minute. This will start the machine in "Safe Mode." It will check to make sure there are no errors on your hard drive and do other tasks to hopefully fix your problem.

If this doesn't work, you may need to reinstall the operating system. On a MacBook Air, that's a bit more complicated.
