When you smell burning like that it usually indicates that the belt is worn and slipping on the motor shaft. You probably need to change the belt. You can get the belts for your model here:

If the filters was very dirty, you might have got some dirt in to the motor, best to have it checked

If the brush won't turn by hand and cleaning it doesn't solve it you may need to replace the brush roll.

It's fixable if you don't wait too long. Dirt and hair get under the end caps of the brush roll causing friction which causes heat which can damage the vacuum nozzle housing. If the housing isn't damaged you may just need a new brush roll and new belt.

It is because the belt is worn or stretched and needs to be replaced. Here are the belts you need and the manual which has instructions:

The first place to look is to see if you have a clog where the dirt flows into the vacuum down by the brush roll. This is a very common place for clog, it may be back in deep where it is hard to see.

We had the same problem, and it turned out that the roller wheel height setting had broken, for no apparent reason, and was "floppy" so we had to lock it in to one setting with epoxy.

Limits utility, but it works. Sort of.

Inspect the brush.
Turn on the vacuum, CAREFULLY pivot the machine so the front goes up and the rear wheels stay on the ground. Is the brush rotating.
If not, inspect the belt after turning the vacuum off and unplugging.
It they are rotating, inspect the brush with the machine off and unplugged. Are there high & low spots?
