I have a brand new remote for the TV/DVD combi (CRT not LCD TV) which is designed like a compass. TV had to go back as it did not work after Santa delivered, as Santa was out of Pirates TV's he replaced with another model but still have the remote.

I am having the same problem, any help would be great!

Apparently a secondary signal on CBS stations (since the 6/12 digital changeover) can cause the sound to be missing on some channels. Use the SAP button on the remote to page through the SAP options. When you return to the normal setting the sound will be restored. This problem should not occur again unless the SAP button is pressed.

depending on where you are in the world, argos if in uk, tandy if in the states, they do an all in one remote and all the codes are listed within the packaging.

If you look on the back of the TV there is a plate. This will have the information for you TV. Should show your brand and model. When you get this information you should be able to look on the back of a universal remote package to see which items it works for. Let me know if I can help you with anything else.

I"m guessing it's the TV, chances are it would loose sound as well if it was the streaming service. Are your backlights staying on when the screen goes black?

Have try adding it from your channel store, entering the code you see and log in with your details?

If yours is a 'Smart' or an 'Android' TV you will have a link on the TV settings where you can download new 'Apps'. Where it is will depend on your specific make of TV. Once you've subscribed to Disney+ the app will ask for your log in details.

Old VHS tapes may have a copy protection in the video that will cause the video to go dark then to go bright making the copy no good. There are devices available that will remove this copy protection. The copy protection is called macro vision I believe.
