Problems when sewing over heavy jean hems
Are you using the correct type of needle? have a word with your needle supplier and explain the problem. Different threads and different thickness material need different top and bottom tension adjustments.
Can I suggest sew one thickness material at a time with tension adjustments for that thickness. Then change the tensions and do a batch of thicker material.

Thread breaks often
Adjust the thread tension around clockwise, not too much, but you will see the difference when you start sewing how loose the thread is around the top part of the machine. hope i helped! :)

I am using a Juki DDL 8700 thread to tight & not pulling through needle & cactching bottom thread
needle too small or machine out of time. to time machine theres a mark on needle bar. lower needle bar till mark shows and raise bar till even with bar guide. take off feeder plate so u can see needle in relation to hook. when mark on needel bar is even with bar guide the hook should be 1/16 fron passing the needle. if not loosen 3 screws and trial and error it to get it right. use a small screwdriver and tighten just on screw when u hab aglined the hook to needle. do a full rotation and watch where needle is and needle bar mark. needel should be as clost to hook without touching.

Pressure foot will not lift up
do u have an automatic machine meaning ft is lifted by pressing ft pedal a certain dirtection. otherwise tilt machine and push knee lever. there should be a flat oval piece on top of lever rod. does it rise straight? it needs to contact the push rod on the machine presser ft. see if the line up by lowering the machine slightly. if not bend rod to aglin. your knee lift may need adjustment too and maybe the presser ft screw located by removing the rubber plug on side of machine or take off the plate by removing 3 screws. careful with gasket cause machine will leak if u tear gasket.. presser ft screw is easy to find. lower ft and tighten. make sure that the needle is centered in foot slot when adjusting presser ft screw. otherwise thread will break when needle hits side of presser ft. a very common problem that many do know about and someday i will charge the site. 35 years with juki and still going strong.

Thread is breaking 8700
needle too small. cheap thread. needle not centered in slot of presser foot which will cause the thread to be sheared of when needle passes presser foot. burrs on hook under machine causesd by breaking needles. tilt machine and use emery paper to smooth hook. stroke in same direction as hook rotation. maybe too much top thread tension also.

Why is there no oil movement in bubble on top of machine?
use lilly white oil and oil flow will not show unless the machine has lots of rpms. tilt machine away from you and ck to see if the oil take up screen is clogged with thread debris. use should always oil hook with lits spray oil. u can take the two rubber knobs off the left side of machine and spray a little in each. oil will not drip out because u have a gasket at bottom.

Why wont my Juki DDL-8700 form a stitch?
machine is out of time and u probably have burrs on the hook since you broke the plate with a needle probably from pulling fabric and bending the needle. you instruction manual will tell u how to time machine and its really very simple. all u have to do is take off feeder plate, loosen the 3 screws that hold the hook then lower the needle with the wheel until the needle just starts to rise. bring the loose hook point to i/16 " fron the needle and tighten hook screws. machine must be tilted back to do this whole operation. it helps to have a short screwdriver to tighten the hook screws. remove burrs with lite emory paper stroking in the sale direction as the hook.
