Brother CS6000i Computerized Sewing Machine - Page 10 Questions & Answers
I am using the walking
Do you have the proper walking foot for your machine? Make sure the pressure foot is moving up and down freely. And check to see that the feed dogs are coming up above the needle plate at least 1MM (almost as high as a dime) If they don't, remove the needle and check for any lint build up between the feed dog teeth. If they still don't come up above the needle plate, they might have to be adjusted.
Tension is loose. Have adjusted
Check the bobbin tension and that the thread is tight around the bobbin. Make sure that the bobbin is in the right way around - the bobbin thread should double back on itself coming out of the bobbin holder.
Brother cs6000i thumping noise
Need to change your needle and make sure in doing so that you have it tight and all the up in the needle plug. Also when is the last time the machine was oiled? Is this a top loading machine? Meaning, is the bobbin on the top or in the bottom of the machine?
I cant figure out how
Do you just need to attach it to the machine? Or are you having trouble using the foot itself?
It attaches the same way the other feet attach. Remove any foot that may still be attached to the machine. On the buttonhole foot look for the small silver pin that sits on the sliding piece with the small red line marks on it. Lift up your presser foot lever and attach the buttonhole foot's silver pin the same way you would attach any other foot.
As far as using the foot itself place your button on the back sliding piece snuggly till it fits in without falling out, adjust as needed. Pull the bottonhole lever down (it's located on the machine opposite the side of the presser foot lever) so that it rests behind the first lever on the buttonhole foot (small plastic piece raised on the left hand side of the foot that doesn't move). Slide the feed dog switch on the back of your machine so the feed dogs go down. Select your stitch and go. The machine automatically stops when done.
Hope this helps!
My bobbin thread keeps looping
Amber,
Have you been using new bobbins? I purchased what I thought was the same size bobbin I had been using for my cs6000i, they differed in size only very, very slightly . For the life of me I couldn't figure out why I was having such trouble with my bottom thread. Upon placing one old bobbin (the correct size) beside one of the new ones I realized the difference. Make sure they are part code: SA156.
If this isn't the problem you could always adjust the tension in the bobbin casing itself with a screwdriver; the correct screw usually has a bit of paint on top of it so it's easy to locate. However, I would do that as a last resort, I've only had to tighten the bobbin casing when using elastic thread.
I hope this helps!
My CS6000i is freezing on
At Joann Fabrics you can buy a notion called a Jean a ma jig, it is something that you put under the rear of the presser foot so that the presser foot stays level and will go over the seam easily. Make sure if you use heavier fabric or are sewing on denim use a #14 or #16 needle so that it won't break. Good luck
My machine will sew
Go to
www.brother-usa.com and under customer support and home sewing & embroidery, download a free manual. You will find that E6 means your thread is tangled. Totally rethread, then do this test, with the presser foot up pull the threads, it should pull smoothly, now put the presser foot down, pull the thread, it should barely move. This should seat your thread int eh tension discs.
I got a new machine
Try it again using other bobbin and make sure that it is filled/winded correct and tighly.
I didnt get the manuel
Go to
www.brother-usa.com and you can download your manual for free, under support for home sewing and embroidery. Why didn't you get a cord? Take it back where you bought it. You are going to get charged about $50 for the cord and the foot pedal. I never heard of this happening. You can also call Brother at 1-877-276-8437 and they can help you.
