Right click on the ScanSnap Manager icon at the bottom right of your computer screen, go to "Scan Button Settings" Then, go to the tab that says Paper. If you don't see it, click on details at the bottom left. In paper, change multifeed detection to Check Length or None instead of Ultrasonic Sensor. If this works, then the ultrasonic sensor on this scanner has failed. The only function is it detects if multiple pages go through at the same time by listening to the vibrations. Your scanner can still scan fine without it.

As per your instructions i have Uninstall every driver/software that is associated with the printer after computer has been restarted, install the printer driver afresh and connect the printer to the compute it works but after sometime it shown again same error

First, are you putting the pages to be scanned in upside down. If not, do so. I sometimes encounter this problem but use the free version of Adobe that comes with the scanner to turn the scanned pages right side up. Hope this helps.

I have had this problem before also. What I ended up doing was shutting down my computer, turning on the scanner opening it all up so you can load it and ensure it is hooked up to the computer, restart the computer, open the program itself but then scan by pushing the flashing button on the machine, not using the program. I am not sure if yours will work this way or not but good luck.

is your adobe reader set to zoom to page width? click on View and under try selecting "Actual Size"

Did the light start blinking? Unplug the USB cable from the scanner, and replug.

I'm going through the same problem. You will have to uninstall all of the software and go over each step to reinstall it. Follow them exactly. If you do step 4 before step 3, you could end up in this situation. Make sure the Scansnap isnt plugged in while you're reinstalling it.

Also, try other USB ports.

If you are unable to find the exact drivers then connect your device to PC and run driverscanner tool to find the recommended drivers. You can get the tool here:DriverScanner2013.net

I had a similar problem. All I did was unplug the USB cable from the scanner and reattach it. Sometimes I would have to close scansnap (blue "S" icon in the sys tray at the bottom right), and then power on the scanner.

Problem solved. Ignore the "Windows XP approval" message & continue with the fix suggested in the troubleshooting section of the manual.
