How to replace temperature control

Thank you for your post, Paul! I understand you would like to replace the temperature control on your Frigidaire freezer. I was unable to locate any detailed instructions on how to do so. In order to access the control you would need to disassemble your freezer and this is not a simple DIY job. I would recommend having a professional technician out to perform a proper diagnosis and repair. This will help you to avoid any unnecessary part purchases and personal injury. I hope this information is helpful to you. -Matt

Need Seal replaced

Carolyn, If this is a commercial freezer we offer a custom made gasket option. It's a simple process at coolergaskets.com Step 1: visit our custom made gaskets page HERE and identify the gasket profile material that best matches your existing gaskets. Note: If you have a hard time with this we offer a $1 gasket sample ring. Step 2: Input the outside edge dimensions you need your gasket to be (length and width) and how many sides it has (3 sided gaskets are most common for walk-in coolers/freezers, You will want precise measurements. Here's our " How to measure your gasket" video. Step 3: Select the quantity you want and add that gasket to your cart where you will be able to proceed to check out there. Then relax because your gasket is in good hands!

Deluxe electronic control alarm on

Hi,

Freezer alarms indicate two things: The door is not closed correctly; The temperature is warmer than -12 degrees.

The alarm can be visual ( red warning light), in either case it can happen if you have just filled your freezer with loads of fresh unfrozen food, however the alarm should self cancel after approx 20 mins as the freezer chills the fresh food and the warm air, down. A persistent alarm should be investigated by a fridge engineer as soon as possible, any food defrosting below -8 degrees is definitely suspect as far as refreezing is concerned. Where a failed thermostat causes the alarm the food will totally defrost, where a gas system is inefficient it's possible to have an intermittent alarm. The freezer should maintain a temperature between 0-5 degrees and if it gets above 15 degrees, the alarm will sound. This could be a thermostat problem, if it's keeping the compressor off too long. If the compressor is not running and it's warm inside the cabinet, turn the thermostat to a colder setting. If the compressor comes on, the thermostat will need to be replaced. If the compressor still won't run, check if it's hot but be careful. If the compressor is hot, the problem can be with the start kit or the compressor has failed. Another possibility is if the compressor is running but there is not a full frost pattern on all the shelves, it indicates problem in the seal system. Whichever cause happens, it will need a thorough checkup and repair by an engineer.

The freezer works but I

Hello,

refrigerators have a door alarm that alerts users when the door is left open.

The alert is a beeping noise that is made when the door is left open more than 60 seconds.

Though the alert was created in an attempt to help users save on electricity, many find it annoying.

Two methods are available to stop the beeping /alarm in your refrigerator.

Instructions bellow

  1. Check the doors on your refrigerator. If the doors were left open, the alarm starts beeping. Closing the door will stop the alarm.
  2. 2 Press and hold the "Lock/Alarm" button on the control panel until the indicator light turns off. This shuts off the door alarm and it will not beep if the refrigerator doors are left ope.
  3. Reactivate the alarm by pressing and holding the "Lock/Alarm" button until the indicator light turns on.

Thanks for using fixya.

Can it be put in a carport year round

Cold weather will not cause problem. The refrigerant stays at gaseous state well below freezing temperature. If i am not mistaken R134 boils at -27 degrees F. below that it would turn liquid but even then it still will not harm the system. Make sure there is no water in the line going to the ice maker and water dispenser because water can freeze and bust the water line.

Freezer is not cooling to highest capacity; things

Air flow is very important. Make sure the vents in the back where the air blows are not restricted. Check to make sure any of the food is blocking the door from closing all the way or in the way of the door seal.

Take a look at the back wall near the bottom of the freezer, if you see frost build up on it you may have a defrost problem. Look for frost around the door on the inside liner or door shelves, if this is found then you have a door sealing problem.
