Sounds like one or more of your defrost components are bad. Those components are defrost heater, defrost thermostat, and defrost timer or board depending on model.

It says manufactured 5-00 The 5 is fifth month which is May and 00 is the year 2000 It was made in May of 2000. I think by looking at the model number it is 13 cu ft.

Remove back plate and check to see if evaporator is frozen over. If so, your defrost timer/heater is not working. Till repaired defrost unit completely. It will work fine till it freezes up again or you make the necessary repairs. Not hard to do just a PIA.

The same happend to my Asko Cylinda freezer. The temperature values were crazy as you say. I ordered a spare circuit board from a service company and was able to replace myself. This solved the problem. I am an engineer working with industrial service, so was able to do this myself. You may need help from a service guy. The problem seems to be a faulty circuit board. repairs should be performed by a qualified service technician. this is a manual defrost freezer. if the compressor is running and there isn't a frost pattern there is a compressor malfunction. refer to your owners manual and read your warranty information to see what is covered and how long.

I would check to see if the compressor is running(humming or making a continuous noise). The compressor is in the back of the freezer and approximately the size of a football.
