Your unit is displaying a common formatter failure. The good news is this:

Any HP M2727 manufactured before January 1, 2010 is covered by a service advisory that will get the printer repaired at no charge. You need to contact HP and get a case number or contact an authorized HP service partner. Be insistent, I have seen some service partners who have no idea that this service advisory exists. You can check the date of manufacture by looking at the serial number sticker on the back of the unit.

This is a known issue with the HP M2727. You need to perform a factory reset on the unit. Please note that this will erase any settings such as Fax header, address books and network settings, Backup your address books through the HP toolbox before you start. Then:

1. On the product control panel, press Setup .

2. Use the arrow buttons to select Service , and then press OK .

3. Use the arrow buttons to select Restore defaults , and then press OK . The product automatically restarts.

After you do this, be sure that you update the firmware to the current revision which is 20100902 and can be downloaded from the HP website. Your current firmware version can be found by printing a configuration sheet from the Reports menu.

This error is caused by a faulty chip on the cartridge. You will need to repalce the cartridge. If it is an original HP cartridge I would contact HP and try to get them to replace it. If it is a reman cartridge, get in touch with your vendor because it is likley they can and should replace the chip for you.

If you mean that the unit does not complete initialization then it means that the formatter is likely junk. The good news is this:

Contact HP immediately. They offer a free repair on this unit and problem for any machine manufactured before January 1, 2010. Check your serial number label on the back, it will show date of manufacture. Be insistent, some HP agents and dealers are not aware of this free repair.

Please update your firmware to the current version as this will usually fix these problems. Go to the HP website and search for M2727 software and downloads. Current revision is 20100902.

This type of failure usually will cause a Scanner 5 or 8 error on the control panel but not always. HP has a Service Advisory that will cover any unit manufactured before January 1, 2010. Contact HP immediately as this advisory expires soon. Any HP service partner can fix this for you but I have found that many do not even know that this advisory exists. Be insistent, this is a more common problem than HP will admit

Turn off your printer and remove the ethernet cable connecting to your printer for2-3 minutes. Then try to plug the ethernet cable or usb cable into the computer.

Try also to download this software http://www.out-of-warranty.com/print-diagnostic-utility-for-hp-lexmark-canon-dell-xerox-and-everything-else/. Download, unzip and install it to your computer. Just click on the blue name of PRINT DIAGNOSTIC UTILITY. It will helps you find the errors in your printer and fix errors in just a second.

Turn power off and wait at least 30 seconds.
If you are using a surge protector, DON'T. Make sure printer is plugged directly into the wall outlet.
Power up. If error persists try www.hp.com/support/LJM2727.

50.2 error is an internal hardware error.
Turn off the power using the switch, and wait at least 30 seconds.
Do not use a surge protector. Plug printer directly into the wall outlet.
Power on. If the error comes back, contact HP.

click start control panel,regional and language options select regional language options from the drop down list select the language you want also from the bottom drop up list you can select your present location location or another language hope this helps don

The detail isnt clear.

But if your machine doesnt do copies, scan or send faxes it would seem that ther is a problem with the scanner unit on your machine, Lift the ADF unit (as if you wer to do a copy from the glass) keep the lid open so you can see the scan unit, do a copy and check if the scanner unit moves and check if the bulb is burning.

These machines are notorius for dodgy formatter boards.

But i would start with checking the scanner unit.

You might have to uninstall the printer restart your computer then reinstall your printer click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to ports(COM&LPT) + to expand you should see a communication port and Ecp printer port you might see a yellow?question mark this will mean you need to install a new driver for this device right click you will have options to update driver,disable,uninstall or select properties again you will have the similiar options also you can troubleshoot the device hope this helps dont forget to vote

You need to clean copy glasses from beneath, also clean scaner

This sounds like a Formatter Problem. This series of printers have a known problem with this component. The Formatter Hangs or Freezes the printer. The Formatter and scanner do need to be changed by an Authorized HP Warranty Repair Facility. It is possible that it may be covered under an HP Extended Warranty program. This sounds like a Scanner/Flatbed Problem. This series of printers have a known problem with this component. The scanner is failing to initialize itself. The scanner does need to be changed by an Authorized HP Warranty Repair Facility. It is possible that it may be covered under an HP Extended Warranty program. See repair information VIA posted Link.
