I also have an HP printer "(all in one")I'm not sure but I know I would take the software out & reload it. If that didn't work.. I would look online in HP site & SEE if anyone else has this prob...or look for possible "updates" from HP. No guarentees...but THESE things I would do BEFORE calling HP or any other tech support.Good Luck..Please let me know if any of this works for you...:)

Pls cleaned your printer scanner assembly gently

Remove back cover, clean cartridge detection sensor (right arrow in test shot) & check sensor flag movement..

Replace Scan head mechanism(while scanning or copying there is a part called scan head moves right to left with light fails to move due to mechanism breakage). For reaching this unit you need to remove flat bed glass. Pl see the snap shot for observation, its easily available in leading spares vendors in India.SCAN HEAD:SCAN HEAD MECHANISM

This seems that driver of the scanner might got corrupted and that is why lost its functionality. To get rid of this issue i will advise you to uninstall and then reinstall the driver for the HP scanner and then check whether the issue persist or not. Also if possible the use the uninstaller utility which will help you to remove the older driver completely from then system so that it will not conflict with the new driver. So try this out and let me know whether this is working for you or not.

hello,this error 20 means insufficient memory so the printer received more data than can process,there ore two solutions :1.instal aditional memory2.press GO to print the transfered data(you may lose some data)

Paper not picking up?..shoot print command and observe printer trying to grabbing the paper?..see any marks on paper leading edge? Remove cartridge and see inside paper pick up roller,might be its dusty or warn out, remove the pick up roller releasing the side locks, clean with wet cloth, fix it back then try once, if its success..end the process.. if not replace pick up roller..observe similar kind of machine:

Open flat bed glass, remove scan head(which part is moving right & left having light)check driving mechanism any breakage/warn out replace mechanism if its good replace scan head..see the snapshot idle scan head mechanism breakage areas for observation.

The scanner/copier assembly at the top of the printer probably needs replacing.You will have to get a tech to troubleshoot it first.

Remove: Operation panel, flat bed glass & scan head. Observe scan head mechanism drive gear placing pinion, if its broken replace the driver gear mechanism, if it is not available, make a metal pinion & fix there, but if you fails in first attempt, no second chance. Bee careful..best of luck...

Get the scanner assembly replaced by a HP certified tech

Check is there any paper jammed inside, open back cover, check paper sensor spring dis located, clean fuser paper out sensor..

The scanner /copy assembly has problems. A tech has to look at it.

Turn off the power by using the power switch, wait at least 30 seconds, and then turn on the power and wait for the device to initialize.
If a surge protector is being used, remove it. Plug the device directly into the wall socket. Use the power switch to turn the device on.
