I have a Canon Pixma MP610 which won't turn on

Good Day Paula!

You can reset the waste ink tank counter by a reset procedure. Bu this doesn't actually empty the waste ink tank itself and will allow you to continue printing.

1: Power off printer
2: Hold Resume button then press and hold POWER, the beeper will sound once.
3: Hold POWER and release RESUME
4: Press RESUME twice, then release all buttons
5: When the indicator lights steady, press RESUME three or four times. The indicator should be orange.
6: Press Power to set data

Greetings, I have a Canon Pixma M610 and this

Try removing all ink cartridges and printhead from the printer. Then, look inside the printer with a flashlight. Look into the right side of the printer and see if there is lots of ink gunk. Remove if any and try not to leave ink gunk on other printer parts. Turn printer off when removing ink gunk. Then after you are done cleaning, turn printer on and wait for it to command you to insert printhead. Do that and close cover. Then, insert cartridges when printer asks for them. Hope that helps. -Alex 303Electronics eBay Stores If you need further help, I’m available over the phone at https://www.6ya.com/expert/alex_22751bbefa74c3d0

A USB cable is jammed in the paper feed. Is there a way to remove it?

If the cable got jammed it's jammed, you should disassemble the printer to remove it so not to do more damage. Quite probably you can't do it yourself, so take your printer to an authorized repair service

QUESTION FOR DON_FARR

whenever you print greyscale what actually happen is that the printer mixes the red, blue and yellow to give the output in gray scale. See if you mix red, blue and yellow ink in the right proportion it gives you very close to black. just try to print your greyscale with your black ink finished you will still get the same print quality as when the black has ink in it. Or find a way seal the nuzzle of the black in and print your greyscale. check what results.
