Lexmark x4550 installed new cartridge a lexmark cartridge I keep getting alignment error. Take the tape off. There is no tape to take off since I already took it off. How can I fix this problem?

The problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads (cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps below to identify and fix cartridge issues:

  1. Make sure the printer is on.
  2. Open the printer cover. The print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
  3. Remove both cartridges from the carrier.
  4. Close the printer cover.
  5. Re-brick your printer by pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
  6. When the printer turns on, reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any errors.
  7. If no error appears, reinsert the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
  8. Replace whichever cartridge is causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.

Lexmark X4550 3 in 1. Although

Try to reset the printer's wireless network settings. On the printer operator panel, press Setup button > Network Setup > Wireless Setup > Reset Network Adapter > press check to confirm.
Re-launch the Lexmark Wireless Setup Utility to connect the printer to your network. If you have a firewall enabled, make sure to allow full access to all Lexmark software and printer communication processes in the program rules/permissions for your firewall. Also, place your printer where it receives excellent wireless signal quality and away from other electronic devices which can cause wireless interferences (e.g. cordless phones, microwave ovens, baby monitors, garage door openers, and other wireless electronics).

Lexmark web gateway has stopped

There could be something that's blocking a printer communication process - firewall maybe? Make sure to allow full access to all Lexmark software and processes, especially lx??wbgw.exe (where ?? stands for any letters), in the program rules/permissions for the firewall. Also, on your computer, go to Start menu > in Run/Search bar, type services.msc and hit Enter > scroll down the items and look for lx??CATSCustConnectService > right-click on the service and select Stop. Try to print again.

If you're having trouble getting the paper jam from the feeder, you can open the cartridge area. You should be able to get a better hold of jammed paper out from there.

    Connecting to a Router
  1. 1 Check if your printer is network ready. Many newer models are designed to work on networks. Examine the documentation to see if your printer supports Wi-Fi (802.11x) or Bluetooth.
  2. 2 Add network support to your printer. If your printer is not already wireless you can connect it to a wireless router using the RJ-45 Jack (it resembles a large telephone jack). You can also buy an expansion card that will add a jack or buy an external print server that will connect to the USB or parallel port.
  3. 3 Connect your printer to the network. If your printer is not wired, you'll have to connect it directly to your wireless router. Connect a networking cable from the RJ-45 Jack on the printer (or adapter) to the router. Plug it into any jack except the UPLINK. The printer should automatically connect to the network when turned on.
  4. 4 Install printer drivers on all computers. Using the disc that came with the printer or drivers downloaded from the manufacturer, install the printer's drivers onto each computer on the network.
  5. 5 Print. You should be able to access the printer just like any other wireless device. Select the printer from the Print menu when you print.
