there is some software to unlock it, but for 1 phone it is not feasible to purchase software. you can also request unlock code from o2 itself. tell them you are travelling to other country and need an unlock code so you can use it in that country.

It seems your mobile is just an patch unlock so every time you update your phone it will lock to its original provider, but if the erom and gdfd_sw_bin if flash,it will permanently unlock and you can use any sim provider no matter how many update you make. This method is so technical and it will be fixed by using gsm gadget instead,most mobile service center have this tool. instead of asking for a paid unlock code which is more expensive, unlocking service by going to any the neatest mobile service center is more cheater and it is negotiable instead than online unlocking service.

I can solve your problem go to menu  select settings in settings you will be having number of option but select connectivity after selecting this you will get some option in that you just select mobile network after that you will get number of option in that select new search.Your mobile start to search networks then select the home network or your service provider.Then you will get network on your screen.If you still find problem means switch off your mobile remove your battery and SIM. Then you put them back and switch on your mobile phone. goto sony ericsson website and click on SUPPORT link and download the software, and follow the instructions after installing it on ur pc and then It will prompt u to connect the phone thru USB and it takes 30mins to update ur phone software.

When the infrared led is blinking, it usually means that your battery is not charged enough. Sometimes you need to charge your phone via the wall and not through USB from your computer, as it has higher voltage.
Otherwise it could be that your battery is dead, which then means you have to buy a new one - which can be found cheap on eBay. I hope you can fix it.

- Check whether your sim is working and Has connected in the system (you may check this with your service provider) - Make sure to select network mode to 2G/3G mode. - Check whether Flight mode is on or off , if its on just restart the phone and set flight mode to off. - If still the signal is not there, Probably there is problem with phone's RF/Signaling Portion.
