Blackberry curve will not turn on but red light
First, download and install the latest version of BlackBerry Desktop Manager software from: https://www.blackberry.com/Downloads/contactFormPreload.do?code=A8BAA56554F96369AB93E4F3BB068C22&dl=DA5FB46338C8C0DCB1039F7898184FC5
Once installed, connect your BlackBerry to your computer via the USB sync cable. Open Desktop Manager, and click the Application Loader. On the right, you will see Update your device software. Click the Start Button, and if your BlackBerry is not on the latest Handheld Software, an update will appear. Select the update, and run the install. Be sure to select the option that backs up and restores your data. Once started, do not shut down your computer, or disconnect the USB sync cable as this could damage the device.
Once completed, your BlackBerry will restart and you will have the latest version available. This version has been known to correct various issues.
If the issue is still present, then it could be hardware related, and may need to be repaired or replaced. I would then suggest contacting your Provider for Hardware Support.
The roller ball on my blackberry curve sticks.
Most trackball movement problems can be rectified by cleaning the trackball. Try the following steps to see if it helps tp resolve the issue you are having;
1) Turn the unit off, open the back cover and pull the battery out,
2) Take a paper towel, dampen it with water...nothing else, making sure that the towel is only damp and not soaking wet,
3) Rub the damp paper towel on the trackball, over and over, making sure to rub up, down, side-to-side and every which way. This should clean the trackball and remove whatever is causing it to not move smoothly.
4) Wait a minute or two and replace the battery and cover. Once the unit has rebooted, try moving the trackball again. It should be better.
Cheers!

The Blackberry Curve 8330 is used on CDMA networks which don't use SIM cards. Only GSM networks use SIM cards. The only reason certain CDMA phones have a sim card slot is for use outside of the USA only, those CDMA phones are Quad-Band.
The SIM card is used on the Blackberry Pearl. Look at the metal clip, it shows the direction to slide which will unlock and lock. Its a little stiff but it does slid and then swing up. Look at the battery and see if it is the same, but I don't believe it will work on the Pearl.

There's a possibility that the program is starting to get corrupted, that's why the keyboard is not responding correctly and the phone keeps freezing up.
Try to soft reset the phone:
1. Remove the battery from the back of the BlackBerry while it's turned ON.
2. Leave the battery out for 5 minutes then put it back on.
3. If same problem occurs, then contact the manufacturer for repair and possible wipe and reprogram for the phone.
Have a great day!
