i would recommend reloading the device software using the desktop software available on blackberry.com
normally a blackberry will not tell you to enter 'blackberry' unless it is trying to wipe the device.

Reset Radio, If not, reload OS and if not, replace SIM Card

you need to disassemble the phone .......take off batt cover and unclip the small section at the bottom of the phone ...undo screws in the back under battery cover ...slowly pull the side rails out and remove front cover ...clean and reassemble
