Ncomputing activation key
It's very simple, register your vSpace software and enable the background hardware activation. I would recommend the online registration as it's the simplest and fastest. The registration can be found in the Programs fly out menu under the NComputing Group.
I have an l230 device
There is NO reset button. Call their Tech Support at 888-365-1210, they can tell you the key combination to reset the password if their is one.
WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN
Not sure what you mean by LAN workgroup. If you're referring to traditional Local Area Networked PCs and sharing files on a server, the NComputing solution is very different. Imagine taking a standard LAN with 20 PCs, each costing at least $500 (usually much more), and having them access a network. That cost would run you $500 * 20 or $10,000. That's just for the hardware, not any of the soft dollar costs. Additionally each PC uses a minimum of 100 Watts of Power, more common these days is 250 Watts.
Now take the NComputing solution. Start by replacing ALL 20 PCs with a $150 L230 or a $200 L300 device, which only consumes 5 Watts of power. Purchase one server, say $2,000. Load up NComputing's vSpace on the server and connect all of the L devices through the network. Every user still gets their own desktop, access to the network and other peripherals. And the I.T. department now has ONE Desktop OS touch points, not 20 as they did before. Thus the NComputing solution can reduce support costs, consume less CapEx and OpEx budget while delivering desktop sessions to each user. In this example the cost would be $2,000 + (20 * $150) = $5,000.
SAP with Ncomputing, its works?
It should work fine. As long as the SAP client is 'multi-user' aware then you're good to go. One 'acid test' is to see if the SAP client will work on a Terminal Server or a Citrix Presentation server and in this case it does. The NComputing solution, conceptually at the application layer, behaves much like TS or Citrix, thus looking for those solutions is what you'll need to know for NComputing. Here is the website I found about how to setup specific INI files for Citrix to get the SAP client working. My recommendation would be to test as is out of the box with two NComputing seats, simultaneously. If that fails, then try the suggestions on this website: http://community.citrix.com/display/adi/SAP+GUI+7.10+on+Citrix+Presentation+Server.
After installing SP1 on Windows
Hi
Not clear whether you installed SP1 on the client or the server.
Try resetting or powering off and on the L230 and let it reintroduce itself to the network.
Also restart the computer that had the SP1 installed on it.
If none of the above resolves the problem, enter Network settings on the client and ensure that Neywork Discovery and File Sharing are not turned off. If they are off, enter Network and Sharing Center and use the Drop Down arrows on the right to turn them and any other desired options on.
Hope this helps.
TS Error internal in l230
My recommendation is to uninstall the vSpace
software, reboot, run their cleanup utility, and reinstall the latest
version. Before reinstalling, make SURE that you have applied any Service Packs and ALL of the current MS updates. Additionally, browse Device Manager
and make sure there are NO missing or conflicting drivers. Do NOT, I repeat, do NOT install from the provided CD. As of
this posting date, the cleanup utility is available here:
nc-eng.com/tools/ncuninstall. The most up to date vSapce for L230 is on the NComputing download site. If you hit this post later
and the supplied URLs are not valid call NComputing TS at 888-365-1210.
Lastly do NOT forget to register the vSpace software.
