Please use these links above, are all troubleshooting USB issues, VMWARE indeed has issues with USB, detection, anyway please read through and follow up on the links, and hopefully you will be able to sort it out.

in usb ports we will use only usb cable, but there are no need to use a particular cable to a particular port we can change the ports.

if you connect power usb hub or use 1.1 usb web cammera

the default password is password or admin there is also usually a pin size button behind it for resetting to factory defaults
