How do I clean dishwasher its starting to leave whiet spots on dishes

Good Afternoon Friend, I understand you want to know how to clean your Frigidaire dishwasher, model# PLD2560LCC, as it is starting to leave white spots on your dishes. Please follow these simple instructions: 1. Load your clean dishes and glasses in a normal manner. Do not load any metal utensils or silverware. 2. Do not add detergent. 3. Select the NORMAL WASH cycle. Close and latch door. Press START/CANCEL pad. 4. Allow your dishwasher to run until it starts the second water fill (approximately 10 minutes). The SENSING light will be off. 5. Unlatch and open the door and pour 2 cups of white vinegar into the bottom of your dishwasher. 6. Close and latch the door and allow cycle to finish. Note: If these conditions persist, a home water softener should be considered. I ask that you please follow up with a comment on the post, at your convenience, to advise if further troubleshooting is needed or if your appliances status has changed successfully. Hope this is helpful. -Best Regards- WP

Mildew in washer

Hi Meredith, this is AP! I understand you are struggling with mold spreading in your Frigidaire dishwasher, model PLD2560LCC. The average useful life of a dishwasher is about 13 years, so I would attempt to get a few more years from the dishwasher if you can. Chlorine bleach kills mold and helps remove most mildew stains. Dilute 1 cup of bleach in a gallon of water and scrub the interior of the machine with a stiff brush. Use a toothbrush to get in narrow areas, such as around door gaskets. Wear gloves to protect your hands when you use bleach, and also avoid mixing bleach with any other cleaning product. Run the dishwasher empty after cleaning it to rinse out the bleach residue. If stains remain after mold removal, scrub them away gently with a damp rag and mild scouring powder. Or you could run a cycle with no dishes. Once the dishwasher has completed its initial fill, add 1 cup of white vinegar and complete the cycle. If you find that removes the mold I would open the dishwasher door after each use and allow it to dry out completely before closing it to prevent mold growth. Moisture, bits of food and a warm environment can lead to unwanted mold growth. If you won't be using the dishwasher for a while, such as when leaving for vacation, leave the door open while you are gone to ensure no trapped moisture leads to a mold or mildew problem. I hope this information proves helpful to you, thank you for the post. Thanks,

Water does not drain

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Dishwasher not draining properly or not draining at all issues can arise due to different reasons. Usually, these issues are related to kinked hoses, knocked out disposer unit (if connected with the dishwasher drain hose) & clogged drain pump & filter.

Also note that dishwashers do not drain completely after a finished cycle and this is normal. Dishwashers are designed to leave some water in the unit to ensure that the heating element doesn’t overheat. If you suddenly begin to experience a large amount of water being retained in your dishwasher, you have a problem. Some of the most common reasons include that the drain hose isn’t working properly, the drain pump isn’t working correctly, or possibly there is a plumbing problem in your home’s drain lines.

First check whether the drain is not clogged or blocked and the line is not kinked. Check all the hoses for blockages & also clean the air gap. Has the disposer been replaced recently? If so, chances are the knockout is still in place. Simply remove the drain hose from the disposer, and knock out the plug. If the disposer has not been replaced, try removing the drain hose from the disposer and use a wet-dry vacuum (prepared for water, of course) to **** any water (and hopefully anything else) from the drain line. Then reconnect the hose, and test the unit. If you have checked the air gap and the drain hose and can’t locate the problem, then it is an issue with the drain pump of the dishwasher.

Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or else revert for further assistance.

Thanks

Rylee

Frigidaire Dishwasher Energy Star blinking lights.

Hmmm...don't know why this worked, but it did. When the lights were flashing when I tried to start my Frigidaire dishwasher model#FDB1500LF, nothing would happen...just blinking lights, so I went to the house electrical panel, found the switch for the dishwasher, turned off & on again, and now the dishwasher works.
Go figure.
