You probably have the check ball that sits below the volute cover that fits in the center of the sump housing. This is part of the Motor & Pump assembly. Your dishwasher has clogged water ports.
Start the dishwasher with NO dishes in it.
Once it starts the wash cycle,open the door and pour in 1 quart of WHITE vinegar and resume the wash cycle.
That should clear out the residue.
Change your dishwasher soap to the FINISH brand name for happy clean dishes.

My Frigidaire 500, 1100, 1400, 1500 & 2400 Series Dishwasher was purchased a month ago and it will not start either. The 8 second lock under "Heat Dry" is lit, but nothing happens when you press any of the other buttons. Any ideas?

Check that the arm outlet jets at the trailing end of the arms are not blocked with food particles and other solid matter. This often happens and the arm is unable to turn because the water jet that is supposed to drive the arm does not have the force to rotate it.

The filter is probably blocked.

It is inside the base of the machine.

Take out the filter and clean it and also clean out the filter well as that can also hold quite a bit of debris.

Please check if something is blocked near the top spray arm, also make sure that all holes are oopen. Use a sharp metal pin to clean the holes on the top spray arm. Make sure the water pressure is not low.

under the screen and youl'll need a Torx driver to get to it after you remove the spray arm and screen. Check to see that the path it travels is clear. I have seen these get blocked up by stuff.Now check if the top arm spins freely and check the bearings for the arm, if they are producing extra friction while the spray arm spins. Hope this helps... Part# F3 is timer.
To disassembe the Timer please follow this procedure--
1. Disconnect power to the dishwasher
2. Remove outer door panel
3. Remove knob from timer by pulling straight off timer shaft
4. Remove console
5. Press in on locks for the disconnect block and pull block from timer.
6. Remove two timer mounting screws. Ground wire has a locking terminal press down on lock to remove terminal.

There are many possible causes for this as discussed below

Check your water level to see if the water valve is even filling up properly. After starting the cycle, listen when the water fillup begins and ends. Open door and see if there is enough water at the bottom. Should fill up to the float valve. If there is not enough water, the valve needs to be replaced. Costs about $25 and can be replaced diy if you are handy with pushing back the hose clamp and undoing and redoing the water line connection.
Make sure you unplug the electric, and shut off the water before you even want to look behind the toe plate. Dishwashers have high electric hazard behind the toe plate..
