Will Intel DG31PR supports SATA-2 or SATA-3 format internal drives?

The Intel DG31PR motherboard uses an Intel G31 motherboard chipset;A) Intel 82G31 - Northbridge chipB) Intel 82801GB (ICH7) - Southbridge chip http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Intel_chipsets#Core_2_chipsetsScroll down to the subheading - G31 in the left column. The Southbridge chip controls the SATA bus.The SATA bus uses SATA technology, that operates UP TO 3Gbps.3 Gigabits per second.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svgThe SATA 3.0 technology operates at 6Gbps.6 Gigabits per second.SATA revisions were made to be both Backward Compatible, and Forward Compatible. However it depends on the manufacturer of the harddrive, as to how to switch it,http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SATA#SATA_1.5_Gbit.2Fs_and_SATA_3_Gbit.2FsThe answer is yes.You will not get the full capability of the SATA 3.0 technology, however. The harddrive will be operating at the SATA 1.5 technology.Regards, joecoolvette[ Here is the Technical Product Specifications for the Intel DG31PR motherboard,http://www.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/dg31pr/sb/CS-029381.htmClick on in blue -Intel Desktop Board DG31PR Technical Product Specification [PDF]Page 10 - Peripheral Interfaces- Four Serial ATA (3Gbps) interfaces -

Not working sound

If you have on board sound and it has in fact failed and not just driver problems. I suggest that you do the same as I have today, I obtained a USB Dongle sound card from P.C.W at a cost of two pounds and everything is now functioning perfectly. Regards, Dennis

Dell 1545 inspirion labtop bios pass word code

The most common way that most of us know on how to reset or clear the BIOS password is to physically remove the power from the computer by disconnecting the power plug and then removing a battery for 30 minutes from the motherboard.

Another way is to reset the clear CMOS jumper on the motherboard itself.

Both of the 2 methods mentioned works because most motherboards use a battery to sustain the BIOS/CMOS settings for the motherboards PROM chip.

So by cutting off the battery power, the BIOS/CMOS settings will be erased. cmos battery Under the keyboard or bottom of laptop -

If you are working on a laptop computer the location of the dipswitch (almost never a jumper) can be under the keyboard or on the bottom of the laptop in a compartment such as the memory compartment.

or you might give them a call

Dell Inspiron BIOS Password Recovery

Each Dell Inspiron has a master password that clears the BIOS password. Call Dell Technical Support at (800)624-9896 to get this number.

Dell Technical Support will request the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the bottom of the Inspiron.

If the current user is not the original Inspiron owner, Dell will transfer the used Inspiron's registration from the original owner with only the Service Tag and Express Service Code from the tag on the laptop.

To transfer a used Dell Inspiron's registration, fill out the Transfer of Ownership form on Dell's web

hope this helps

I have a intel dg31pr motherboard with e7200

Overclocking is something you should only do if you are fairly experienced with computers. Most motherboards that overclock are made for overclocking as are the processors used. Good overclocking requires a balance of increased FSB, multiplier, increased voltage to the ram and sometimes the processor as well, and excellent cooling. It is easy to burn out your system by overclocking. There are many things you should know first. For that reasion alone it is impossible for me to tell you how to overclock it.

But, go to www.extremeoverclocking.com. This is a site made for people who want to overclock. Read and browse through the forums. You will also find some excellent by the numbers guides there. Sigh up and jump in. When you perform your first overclock, come back and tell me. I've been overclocking since 2002.
