It is working.

Tested first with one new module with 2GB RAM, then with 2 modules, 2GB (new) + 1GB (original). Post and Windows are showing 3GB.
The HP 530 notebook is working OK.

You can goto this link and download the drivers in Audio section.

After downloading you will install the drivers, restart your Notebook and hopefully get this fixed.

Note: Its better to remove the Audio drivers first before installing the new ones, to do so; Right click My Computer/Computer > then click Manage > Then find the Device manager on the right panel.
There find the Audio drivers/Controllers and uninstalled them.

Suggest calling microsoft or even better hp, if you call technical support at hp, they might be able to send you the operating system disc for recovery and reinstall. At least over at dell i know you can do that, so I assume hp would have the same standards.

Are you on battery or AC power,change the power setting so your laptop is running at full speed. I usually set it to Home/Office and change the video,system standby to NEVER for both battery and AC

If you are using the XP or Vista OS, if you are going to install more than 3 GB of Memory then it fails to show up on the computer properties.

Once you install the memory then you may check the BIOS for the memory installed in the system, the BIOS shows the exact amount of memory installed in the system.

Hello, this is a known problem with the model of that laptop. You will also notice in safe mode your screen will not flicker but in normal mode it will flicker.
Your laptop should still be under warranty and needs the LCD replaced.
