who ever did the repair missed something to replace and or the "Metal Oxide Semicondutor Field Effect Transistors" ic's went bad again

Start with the basics:

• Check the amp's on board fuse.
• Check the in-line fuse for the amp's power supply.

If you have a meter:

• Check the voltage at the +12v connect on the amp's power terminal
  
• With the system on (or as on as it can be), check for voltage at the 'Remote' connect on the amp's power terminal - Is it +12v? If not,
  
• Check the ground using the continuity or resistance option

If you have voltage to the +12v connect, try jumping it to the 'Remote' connect. It should light up.

If it doesn't, the problem is in the amp and a bit more difficult to track. Let me know if we need to take this to the next level.

It is too old for online manuals. Any colour light would show it has power and usually a red, green or blue LED. yes a higher voltage rating is OK lower voltage rating is not good.

If you have to ask, take it to a repair shop.

I was having a similar issue. I checked every wire from the battery to stereo to amp, checked the ground, pulled the stereo to double check the wiring was all correct. Everything seemed good so I thought it had to be my battery not putting out enough power. Tested it and it was good. What it turned out to be was the connection from the power cord to the battery. It had a tiny bit of built up corrosion that was making the amp go into protect mode. Cleaned it up and hooked it back up and has been golden since.

you have to first note the ohm load the amp can handle and wire the speaker that ther amp can handle

Check the wiring 1st then go down the line...Check speaker connections..Look at your power,ground and remote wire hook up
