the ground wire should be no longer than 3 feet the shorter the better just make sure it touches bare metal and yes it needs to be the same guage as the power wire

you can try the new soundstream T5 or a MTX 9500 but the T5 would sound deeper and cleaner

well the best way is keep the amp hooked up how it is now and on your amp there is a + and a - for a cap hook up the negative to the negative for the battery and the positive to a fuse like with a 60 amp fuse then the other end of the fuse link goes to the battery

could be not enough voltage or the settings on the amp are not correct for the sub you have its a feature that MTX put on thier new amps

could be the wires is bad or someplace the power wire is grounding out or the fuse or fuses is blown. or could be not enough voltage but highly doubt it.

yes you shorted the output transistors and replacing them will fix your issue. inside the amp you will find three legged transistors that mount to the amps body/heat sink. replace all of them.

different companies use different numbers so you should try to cross reference with other resistors you could probably call an electronics company and have them look it up for you
