Try plugging in an external microphone. If it works, then your internal microphone has failed. If the external microphone also doesn't work, then try reloading the Realtek Audio Driver. There is also the possibility if you have previously used an external microphone, that the jack's connections have become unreliable such that the system thinks that an external microphone is still connected after it has been unplugged. In this case if your hard disk and memory is ok then u have to repair the windows by repairable windows cd. This kind of problem is also came from power connection so check the connection of power

You should be able to find your driver on acers site. Under notebooks go to where it says acer aspire and select you model, then under drivers select bluetooth. Install the driver, restart your computer and you should be good to go.

look for it in the device manager and see if it is installed ...To get there click right on my computer ...properties/ hardware / device manager ...
here you should locate it by name or by video camer a...and if it is in yellow with a sign on it ...this means that it is not installed..and you have to see what is the reason ...Either the driver is not compatible with the operation system ..or you do not installed it ..or you did something during install...probably it pop-ed up for installation when it was discovered by windows and you canceled the installation cause you had other priorities..
so in this case insert the disk again ...open the disk by explore it (right click on disk icon) ...locate the driver for the camera and in accord with the operation system you are using ...and start the install from the installer application ...Run it all the way even if windows will say at dome moment that the driver is not digitally signed or something lik ethat ...click install anyway..
after that restart the laptop...if the camera it is enabled...and has no other issues this will have to make it work ...probably windows will find it ..and start a wizard to install it again ...run it automatically and it will announce you that the device is installed and ready to use..
If the camera is nowhere to be seen in the device manager ...and the windows it do not find it anywhere automatically..than try first to restart ..and just as the first lines written appears..pressF2 to enter Bios settings ..Here look for the feature called Optimal factory defaults ,,and enable it by selecting with the arrows for up and down ...and press enter to agree....Save all changes by pressing F10 ..and this will restart the device ..In this moment even if the camera was disabled ..windows will find it and install it automatically cause the driver is already installed,,,if it doesn't It means the camera is dead..

on the left hit the restore
contents
reinstall drivers/applications

reinstall the webcam driver
also worth re installing the audio driver as well

You think your hard disk is unplugged due to slamming a lid closed? If thats the case then the answer is yes. Get a screw driver and un screw both screws on the bottom of the laptop with the power cable unplugged and the battery out of the unit. Press and hold the power button down for sixty seconds before reseating the hard drive or connecting any cables to it.

it is very unlikely and kind of unusual that the hard drive would just become unplugged due to slamming a lid down. I hope you have not damaged the drive instead? If thats the case then there is nothing you can do but purchase another one.

You need to redownload the drivers for your VGA . Go to this link: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers

When you get there, select "Notebook"...then select "Aspire". Then scroll down and select Aspire . 4720 Then where you see "Operating System", select your operating system (ex: XP, Vista, or Windows 7). It will then show all the drivers for your operating system...scroll down until you see the VGA driver software and then download and reinstall it. Hopefully this will help...good luck.

your best bet is to either go to a local computer shop to see if they have a keyboard for your acer or order one of amazon, they are fairly cheap you can either go to the link i have provided or search on amazon your laptop Acer Aspire 4720 Keyboard.

Could be several things

• If you here the fan and the hard drive light is flickering (has a cyclinder or little disks icon) then most likely your screen is dead. If you have an external display/monitor try hooking that up and toggle your display (usally FN key + F7) If you can see your desktop on the monitor than this is your problem
• If all your getting is lights try powering down the laptop and unplug the A/C adapter and remove the battery for about 30 seconds. Put the battery back in an attempt to power on.
• If it is still not working then it is most likely the motherboard that has failed.

Both the screen and motherboard are several hundred dollars to replace. I do screen replacements for $75 + part and motherboards $50 + part. I can help you find the parts if needed. (Hint: ebay is a good place to get parts for much cheaper than OEM)

it may be worth loosing the screen and checking that the the video cable is secured tightly
i have just had the same problem but i was lucky that i had two of the same laptops
and after removing the screens the inverters and the video cables i narrowed it down to the video cable itself because the person who the laptop belonged to said that when they moved the lid a few times it would sometimes light up so i think they managed to damage the video cable
