Hello, My acer 4520 laptop mic

Hi,
The mic is build-in, of course, it's in the top bar of the screen, besides the camera.
You need to be closer to the laptop to get higher voice.
While it works in Skybe, this means it should word in any other program like GMail, MSN, or even with the default recorder comes in windows, some configurations should be fixed or modified in the GMail program
Please tell us your results
Good Luck

Hi mine is Acer Aspire

Can you suggest which OS you are using?
Does this problem exist for all the CDs/DVDs?
Try to insert bootable CD and try boot from it and check if it works.
You can try blank cd and just write it using NERO and check.

My laptop, acer aspire 5332 is not functioning

This is most likely a problem with the hard drive having bad sectors or failing components. If it takes awhile to boot longer than it should, and if you hear a kind of grinding sound from your laptop like it's doing something, if means that the heads of the hard drive is trying to get the necessary information from the platters. Until it is able to read it off completely, your computer will not continue the booting process.

It may also be a case of malwares/virus. What happens if you load into safe mode? If you can load into safe mode quickly then it probably is caused by some infection.

If it's a hard drive then you need to buy a new one and install operating system again, that is, if you have the dvd/cd.

hope this helps.

My power won't stay on

Hey there,

Your issue is hardware-related. If it's not staying on, it could signify a problem with the battery. Plug your Laptop directly into the wall. If it works, replace the battery. If it doesn't work, then the problem could be that a vital piece of hardware inside your computer is failing, such as your power supply. It may also turn off if it's not getting enough cooling (ie. If your CPU Fan is stuck.).

Your first step is to check the battery. If it's still experiencing problems beyond that, come back here and post a reply so I can assist you further.

Can not connect wirelessly with

The list of wireless routers that are available in Windows is very limited and the signal strength of any router that is detected is weak. This can occur when the Lite-On USB Wireless 802.11 b/g hardware and Windows are not able to fully synchronize the signal strength data. Figure 1: Example of detected wireless devices when the antenna cable wire is connected to secondary port c01153759.jpg Figure 2: Example of detected wireless devices in the same environment when the antenna cable wire is connected to primary port c01153760.jpg To correct this error , download and install Lite-On USB Wireless LAN Driver Update (sp35177) (in English) from the HP Web site. This update should only be applied if your PC has the Lit-On USB Wireless LAN adapter and is exhibiting the symptom. As a work-around, you can connect the wire that runs from the wireless antenna port to the primary port on the cord as follows: CAUTION: This product contains components that can be damaged by electrostatic discharge (ESD). To reduce the chance of ESD damage, work over a non-carpeted floor, use a static dissipative work surface (like a conductive foam pad), and wear an ESD wrist strap connected to a grounded surface.
  1. Open the side panel.
  2. Find the wireless networking board by following the antenna wire connected to the wireless networking antenna port on the back of the computer. Figure 3: Wireless networking hardware c01153761.jpg 1 - Wireless network board 2 - Antenna wire 3 - Wireless networking antenna port
  3. Very carefully, disconnect the small wire from the board by gently pulling the end of the wire away from the board.
  4. Connect the wire to the other available port on the board. Figure 4: Available port c01153762.jpg
  5. Replace the side panel, connect the power cord, turn on the computer, and use the computer again to verify that wireless signal strengths have improved.

Hi!
Did you reconfigure your wireless settings in the network settings in the control panel under the wireless connection settings you could try turn it on that way. if its a case that the switch its self is not responding to the new software.you could try running hardware diagnostics on that specific area. ie the wireless network card. dont no if thats much help but its all i got for now.

Problem about my acer 4520 series laptop, when we

I'm not sure as to the question here are you not able to boot into Windows and the computer shuts off. I'm assuming this is what you are asking. Sounds to me I usually recommend that laptop folks take these in unless you can do this yourself due to the laptops being sensitive more so than a PC you may have to re-install the original software back into this laptop in order to get the laptop working again.

This is a critical issue that needs to be attended by a professional compute tech. If you are not willing to go that route you will need a recovery CD it may just be a bad power supply unit that is quirky this is also common they get stretched around and bent and when you wiggle them the computer comes on and off. Also it could be a loose solder on the integrated video card this is also common with laptop when they overheat solder points get hot and crack. Like I said it could be anything in those ranges that is the issue. Not sure what the question is referring to exactly if you would not mind could you elaborate a bit more in a response so that I can further assist you when I know what is going on more.

Does it power on and then go off? Does it not boot at all into Windows? Are you missing files what is lost would help a lot to determine some kind of answer. I can tell you it is serious though take it in and get it fixed. Just a suggestion! Thanks for using FixYa! John
