When you turn it on
Acer have a funny litttle problem at times where they static shock themselves of shutdown, what you can try to correct this is remove the power cord, remove the battery, open the lid to expose the power button and press (at the same time) power alt esc and hold for 30 sec, now leave the notebook alone for about 5 mins, reinsert your battery and the unit should power up, if it does not it could be something more serious like a fauly ram module or mainboard, but try the battery thing first, its more or less a 9/10 fix here at the shop.

Hi.
If you never deleted the recovery partition (hidden on most computers) you can enter recovery mode at startup. When you power on your computer, hit ALT F10 continuously until you enter the recovery menu. You should be able to restore to factory defaults by this procedure.

How to Reset the BIOS
Hi,
If you have forgot BIOS password then you have to reset CMOS jumper setting. Please follow the below steps: Open the Laptop back panel. Locate the CMOS battrey, remove it & then with the help of a screw driver keep on pressing the terminal inside it and turn ON the computer for 10 secs and Turn Off (make sure you keep on pressing the terminal with a screwdriver while turning ON). It will clear the BIOS setting. Now, fix the CMOS battrey & restart the computer. This will take care of the issue.

touching a bios update is a bad idea most people crashes motherboards doing that. the only thing you can try put the stock bios back but i wont like you used it before may have fail boots
anyway the problem can be with ram's and HDD, you need to check them with another machine
for the HDD observe the temperature if it reach above 46c then you have problem with HDD. good luck :)
My LCD monitor is white when i work?
I can tell that this problem may be related to the following:
1. Loose connection between the video cable and the LCD screen.
2. Defective LCD screen.
3. Defective motherboard (I assume the graphics card is integrated into the motherboard).
Most likely you still can use the laptop with an external monitor. Just connect the monitor to the VGA port on the back or side of your laptop and then switch the video output from internal to external mode.
On Toshiba laptops you can toggle between internal and external screens using Fn+F5 keys. Hold down Fn and press on F5 until you get video on the external monitor.
On IBM laptops use Fn+F7.
On HP laptops use Fn+F4.
It's possible that you have to use a different key combination on your laptop but you get the idea.
On some laptops, in order to be able to use the external monitor, you have to connect it to the laptop and then restart the laptop so the external monitor is detected by the laptop.
I noticed that in some cases the laptop screen may turn white because of poor connection between the video cable and the LCD screen. If you want to check this connection, you'll have to take apart the display panel because the connector is located on the back side of the LCD screen
Reconnecting the video cable may fix your problem.
If reconnecting the video cable doesn't help, most likely you have a problem either with the LCD screen or with the motherboard

The best way to find out witch one is causing the problem is testing the laptop with another working LCD screen. Without this test you'll have to guess because as I mentioned before this could either bad motherboard or bad LCD screen.
You'll have to disconnect the video cable from the LCD screen (connector 2) and the inverter board (connectors 3 and 1). After that you connect another working screen and test video.
Hope it helps, else you will have to send the system for servicing to the manufacturer

My acer 4310 connects fast
Hi there,
When you plugged in the ethernet cable, does it show on your windows tray (lower right corner of the screen) that the LAN is connected? It should show you "Connected" if you hover your mouse on the LAN icon.
Try also to plug in the ethernet cable to a different port on the router, and that the port number on the router is showing a solid green led light.
If all has been observed and still you cannot connect, look if the network adapter for your lan is working. RIGHT click your My Computer or "Computer" and select Manage. The Computer Management window will open. Click on the Device Manager on the left to show the list of devices on the right. Look for Network Adapters and click the + sign. See if your LAN adapter is not showing any yellow exclamation point. Also, right click on it and select Properties. You should see the device is working properly under status.
Please let me know how this goes. Thank you for using FixYa.

Check that it is not the screen itself by testing it on another external monitor. If the issue still persists, you have a faulty graphics chip on the laptop. This may mean replacing the motherboard
If the issue is resolved by another monitor, the problem is with the vga cable or the screen
You can eliminate the screen by testing with a known good one, involves removing the screen bezel. , Resolving the vga cable is more difficult as it involves stripping the laptop to check the cable is secure, as you need to get the exact model of cable with the exact revision, this is best left to a repair shop
