Good afternoon! We have a Frigidaire top load

Joe, remove panel to get access to outside of outer tub. You will see a "bell" with a soft 3/8 clear line coming from it. That is your water pressure hose and it goes to a switch in the control panel. Remove one side from the bell housing, outer tub, and check for gookus. Clean out all obstructions. If there isn't any obstruction in the line, you need a new pressure switch up in control panel. There is a small chance that there is something on the inside of the outer tub which is obstucting air bell but I don't see this very often. Hope this helps,

Will fill with water but wash cycle does not start

Needs looking at, take the top of the unit off, switch on and manually turn to the wash/spin cycle and listen for a click, if theres no click then the circuit panel needs replacing, if there is a click have another look (switch off and isolate machine) and make sure the small springs that hold the pegs near the cogs are there, sometimes they just break off being so fragile.

My washer will run up

Twist timer very fast a few times and stop it on spin with the lid closed. Wiggle the timer to get the points to connect. Even if you
just get a little bump then its the timer.
If none of this works then it is the timer plus maybe something else contributing.

Don't forget to check the lid switch plunger on the lid

Load was to heavy and I smelt burnt rubber now no spin

Hi

Older top load washers use a belt to drive to transfer the energy from motor to drum. However, if the belt slips, stretches, or breaks, it can cause friction and a burning smell, most likely a burning “rubber” smell. The belt is located either from the back access panel or from the underside of the washer. The solution is to replace the belt with a new one. To replace the belt you can open the back lid of the washer

To replace the belt carefully pry up on front washer top to release plastic keeper pins, remove 2 Phillips screws from beneath lower front washer panel, slightly lift upward on panel to release. Now remove old broken belt, push new belt beneath large tub pulley and put belt on small motor pulley. After this push back belt tension /idler arm, start belt on large tub pulley, turn tub pulley by hand to run belt on, release tension on idler arm. Replace front panel and lower top.

Please check this diagram for the part number F28(drive belt)--

Please post back for any further assistance.

Thanks
Daniel

Washing machine will not spin on any cycle

usually there is something stuck in the drain pump.
there are two clips about one inch in from either side of the machine take a flat tip screw driver and push the clips in a little bit this will release the lid then remove the screws from the bottom of the front panel.and then remove it.
if there is still water in the machine then you can use a wet dry shop vac and attach it to the end of the drain hose to remove the water.
After the front panel is off take the drain hoses off the pump and look in them for something stopping the pump.make sure to check the hose that comes down from the bottom of the tub to the pump.
there is also a chance that the lid switch may be faulty

Water is not draining

there is a chance that there is something stuck in the drain pump area.
you can use a wet dry shop vac and attach it to the end of the drain hose to remove all the water.
then remove the front panel and check the hose that comes down from the bottom of the tub to the drain pump,if you do not find any thing make sure to stick your hand up in the hole to the tub.
then remove the hoses from the drain pump
there is a slight chance the the lid switch could also be bad

Will Not Engage in Spin Cycle

The most common cause of a no spin problem is a faulty door/lid lock and switch assembly. It is a safety feature of the washer not to spin or tumble when the door/lid lock is not activated. The washer will tumble for the first few minutes while it is detecting the door/lid switch but will not advance if the switch is not activated. If the washer is indeed a Frigidaire FWS833A Top Load Washer, the lid lock is part number 131675600. Disconnect power to the washer prior to servicing to avoid the risk of electric shock. Begin with the removal of the screws attaching the top panel to the rear of the washer then slide the panel rearward and lift it off the washer. The lid can now be removed and replaced; remove the screws securing it to the cabinet and pull it off. Secure the new lid lock in place and connect the wires. Reinstall the top panel and secure it back in place.
